Awful time travel my ass. Red Letter knows nothing.

Well, Rey is Palpatine's granddaughter. Bet you didn't see that one coming.
And stormtroopers finally adopted Boba Fetts' jetpacks.
And you can ride 'horses' across the deck of a Star Destroyer.
I enjoyed it for the spectacle but the dialogues at some moments were dire, and the editing was a bit break-neck.

If you've already decided that you're going to hate it, there's not much I can do.

I did see that one coming a mile away. I assumed some kind of clone was also an option. Also most of the things your saying are things seen in the trailer anyway. Not much spoilers.

The whole idea is moronic. Undoing the empires defeat so that this new trilogy had a reason to exist was always shitty writing.

I'm not planning to hate it, but if the last two dished where deep friend horseshit smeared all over beloved existing characters Im not expecting the last dish to do much good.

The very virtue of bringing back palpatine is such a goddam bad idea. Its the emotional equivalent of a killsteal.

Its a shame she wasn't a good character. Not saying going against bloodline was a bad idea: Shes just a mary sue regardless. It makes conflicts for her dull. Shes an uninteresting character. Luke was bland at times, but he wasn't overpowered.

I managed to watch this movie, having avoided all but the first teaser trailer last summer. So most of the 'twists', which in my opinion were just JJ trying to salvage something from the wreckage Last Jedi left him with, were genuine surprises.

Started suspecting it after the end of TFA based on some of the stuff from the ancillary material (which I was still following at that point, but stopped shortly thereafter). To be honest, I was perfectly fine with the idea from TLJ that she 'came from nowhere'--assuming that the Force chose her and that the story of the galaxy was wider than Snoke and Kylo Ren expected.

I was cool with the idea that there was never anything special about her. Except perhaps that she was going to forge her own destiny, instead of being picked by the Force to move the plot along.

Personally, I reject this interpretation, for reasons I've banged on about through this thread. The sequels were weak storytelling, and the finale suffers from that. Not because "The Last Jedi was just too good for the fans." horseshit.
