nope

Just saw some spoilerific cam footage of the ending. LOL this looks so fucking bad. :p

So, they go into the final film with no story, and have to invent a ressurection plot by The Emperor at the last minute to try save this flaming trainwreck.
No foreshadowing. No lead-up. No stakes. No tension. Just *pop* here's the Emperor, try and pretend there's a story behind the spectacle.

I don't even relish kicking this puppy anymore. It's just sad.
The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

Um, no Ratman_tf. If you were a true fan you would have read the comics, so your ignorance here is on full display. He never died. Palpatine has been clearly depicted as riding a fragment of the exploding Death Star down through the atmo like a surfboard.

Shit my bad. I thought that was Dark Star. :D

:p Many Bothans gave their lives bringing Bomb #20 aboard.

The emperor was actually very spry, so its not unfeasible he used sick moves to avoid destruction.

As I understand it, the film doesn't even try to explain Palpatine's survival, so it's going to have to be left up to the ancillary stuff. I wonder if there's going to be enough room for us to deny it's really him, as some characters did with the clone Emperor in the old EU. Not sounding likely from how people who should know reportedly deal with him, though.

That is beyond stupid. I guess at least they're being honest about having totally given up any pretense of narrative cohesiveness though.

Note that I'm relying on leaks and spoilers here and haven't done a deep dive into that material, so I could very well be wrong. And since I have no intention of seeing the film in the near future, it's going to be up to someone else to clarify the point.

Yeah, I'm not touching this thing with a 10-foot pole. The spoilers I've seen are more than enough proof to me that I don't need to worry about wasting money on tickets to this train wreck.

I genuinely can't even smell-test which leaks are true or false. They all sound equally ridiculous and far-fetched, which is a bad sign if any of them end up being true.

:p I think the fact that you can't be certain either way perfectly demonstrates how far the franchise has fallen.

Godfather Punk

So, I've just returned from the cinema. How are we doing spoilers?

For those who are easily triggered, there is a female-female kiss. Ooh noes teh horror.

The story was a bit hamfisted IMO around the Palpatine stuff, but overall the action was beautiful and it looks like the players had seriously levelled up so the GM pulled out all stops.
And some welcome surprise cameo's.

Spoil the piece of corporate committee designed piece of garbage piece of trash, I ain't going to go see it.

Glad to hear its a vapid script and pretty imagery as usual. With lots of camoes to belay the fact that the series exists as the biggest fuck you to the OT possible.
