This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

OK, I'm Here.....

The Powers-That-Be at the Other Place have told me that they're not willing to lift my permaban because I'd be "too controversial" and that the "crazies would come out of the woodwork" to attack me.

From reading Wick's Livejournal, I learn that this, supposedly, is where the "crazies" are to be found.

After spending the first two months of 2007 fighting cancer, the thought getting in amongst the "crazies" doesn't really scare me.  Even a little bit.

I lurk for a couple months, and I see a community which is far more like the RPGnet of Old.   The one that I loved.

So, here I am.

Welcome!

I had no idea you had such health issues. This hits close to home for me. Get well and beat that shit, man. Sincerely.

I was under the impression you didn't like the RPG.net of old but I'm glad it isn't the case.

Are you working on games currently? Or have any upcoming projects?

Welcome.

I dont' know you from Adam, as I was never a member of tBP (I just signed up today!). So I don't know if you and I will come to verbal blows over something here. So let me just say this before we do.

Good luck on that cancer.  I've not had it, but my family has been touched several times.  I can only say keep up the fight, it seems to be one of the few constants that helps no matter the type or advancement. It's not a cure, but it sure helps with the quality of life.

So good luck.

Thanks -- the surgery appears to have been successful.  My scans have come back clean, so now it's just prevention.

I'm running Adamant Entertainment as a full-time job -- we've been primarily concentrating on d20 stuff (because, bluntly, the money is still there, especially in PDF).  You can check current projects and such at the website linked in my sig.

Later this year, I'm also launching a quarterly magazine of pulp fiction, plus a line of pulp novels and anthologies, which you can read about here:

I've seen that acronym a couple of times.  What does tBP stand for?

Welcome!  I hope you don't have the same reaction to us as Wick did.

Or at least give us a second chance if you do.

TBP = The Big Purple.  AKA RPG.net.

Nice to see you here, hope you stick around.

Ah.  Gotcha.

Hey -- people here are saying that posts I'm making (including this entire thread) are disappearing.   I can still see them (as obviously can others, since people keep posting here).

Anybody know what's going on?   I dropped a PM to RPGPundit, but he's on vacation.  Who are the other Admins?

Edit: RPGPundit handled it.  Apparently, I'd been spambotted.

I wish John Wick would give us another chance too. The fact is, this is a guns-blazing no-holds-barred site, where we give guff to game designers and regular posters alike, so no one is going to be treated with kid gloves.  But its also a place where you can talk about anything, and (with few exceptions, IMO) the conversation level is also very high.

Welcome to the forum sir. Due to lack of site intervention, please wear proper head, groin, and ego protection at all times. Okay, I kid, about the physical protections anyways. :)

We do have our share of crazies, and to be honest some insults and lots of expletives fly. At the same time though, I think a lot of interesting talk and ideas spin out of the maelstrom, so I hope you have a good time here too.

I really dig the notion that John Wick considers some in this site the "crazies" :D

Congratulations, and good luck.

Has Heroes of the New Wave been put on the back burner due to your (quite logical) focus on D20? If so, that'd be a shame, although maybe it could be a D20 Modern or D20 Adventure! expansion.
