This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

New Purchases.

So I've been following a lot of discussions here of late, as I've had a lot of time on my hands since I was injured in the line of duty, and I am happy to report based on your input, and discussions, I've made some new RPG purchases! And to be honest I am pretty enthusiastic about the whole deal.

My books ship soon, and I'll be trying out the new Star Wars D20 setting, as well as some D&D products to supplement the few we've got right now.

I am considering, but not sure when I'll do it, purchasing one other new game but I don't know what to pick up. Any suggestions?

Danger

Whilst not knowing your preferences, I'd like to mention that there is a nice buy-one-get-one-free sale at rpgnow.com.

I was more than excited to pick up AFMBE and All Tommorrow's Zombies for a mere $30, and I daresay that that price was at the high end of things for a .pdf but I don't personally don't mind; you can pick up stuff for cheaper, I'd warrant.

TTFN.
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

ElectroKitty

I know it gets a lot of flack, but I rather like the Serenity RPG. There's not as much crunch to the setting as I would like (they've got other sourcebooks for that, apparently) but I rather enjoy the ruleset -- and it *does* come with a few nice schematics of ships (including Serenity, natch) and example characters.

Hackmaster

D&D and Star Wars Saga Edition are great, but here are two other current favorites of mine that are a little different.

Legend of the Five Rings - oriental fantasy with an amazing setting and a simple system.

Shadowrun - a classic game combining magic with cyberpunk.

Yeah I own between two and five copies of every SR book ever printed.

Well, if you like 'old school' fantasy, you can't get much better than the Basic Fantasy RPG (available through Lulu). Likewise, several cool things like Reign, JAGS: Revised, vs. Monsters Deluxe, and ENWorld's Burning Sky adventure path are available in POD format at the Lulu site.
