Title: Lloyd Alexander RIP
Post by: jeff37923 on May 19, 2007, 11:36:49 PM
I just heard that Lloyd Alexander died on May 17th. You might not know him, but he wrote some Newberry Award winning fantasy for children. His Chronicles of Prydain were a big influence on my early 0D&D games. RIP, dude.

I loved his Chronicles of Prydain, especially _Taran Wanderer_.  The latter two books in the Westmark series also were memorable.  At least he left behind work for the ages.

Awwwwww, crap! The Prydain books have had a much greater influence on my D&D games than Lord of the Rings, Conan, Fafhrd and Grey Mouser, or any other fantasy novels, from the time I began playing them until even now.

I feel sad. :(
