Title: Is this the sign of a New America?
Post by: James McMurray on February 05, 2007, 12:30:25 PM
Political analysts are fairly certain that there will be no Texans in the presidential running for '08. This would make it the first time in 36 years (since 1972) that there hasn't been a Texan making a bid for that office.

It's still possible that there may be one in the running for VP though.

God I hope so. I don't think so, but I hope so.

The way texas runs itself makes it something I don't want having a say in the way the whole country is run.

Exhibit A. George "DUHbya" Bush Jr.
Exhibit B. George "Poppy" bush Sr.
Exhibit c. The fact texas has some of the highest infant mortality rates in america.
Exhibit D. The fact texas spend some of the least on childresn's health programs, education and nutrition.
Exhibit E. The fact texas has some of the highest incarceration and execution rates in america, along with the most draconian laws and long sentences for non violent crime.

If we can get the northeasterners and southerners out of the political limelight and start paying more attention to the mid, north and south-westerners -- you know, the sensible people of the country (for the most part) -- that would be ever so keen.

What did Bush Senior have to do with Texas? He lives in Massachusetts now, I believe, and unless I'm mistaken never participated in Texas politics at any level.
And I too would like some cited states to back up your incoherent ranting.

Although part of me wonders why I even care.
