That's a pretty deep geeky controversy to be dealing with on a mainstream sitcom. I haven't watched the show past the first few episodes but I'm curious what else they do with D&D stereotypes and trivia in it.

The tiny bit of Community I've seen has made me desire to see more; the Chang character is a riot (he showed up at a costume party in a female's ice-skating outfit and said "Guess who I am!" and another character said "oh, Michelle Kwan" to which he said "
No, Peggy Flemming!
Racist." and flounced off).
Interesting fact about the actor who plays Chang- He's an actual Medical doctor. I find that really awesome- he's incredibly smart, but decided to do goofy crap for laughs and a living.
Y'know, I've been seeing this guy everywhere lately... I just don't find his schtick funny. Ok, that 'Michelle Kwan' bit was worth a chuckle or two.
I'm actually starting to come up with a totally amateur scientific analysis of 'what's wrong with the funnymen today'... something about formulaic regurgitation of standardized riffs that were fresh 30 years ago on SNL...
woops... gone.
Ah well, it was fun while it lasted.
