Post 300!
Eat that beeyatches!
This isn't rpg.net.
Jeff? Pundit? Zero my postcount, would you? Or better yet, remove postcounts from display on everyone's posts.
That shit is such bullshit.
I don't see why we should. I mean, I agree, bragging about post counts is mostly pointless. There's a lot of guys who post a massive number of posts/day, but I'd hardly say that they're as worthwhile to read on the whole as other people who might post less.
But that said, erasing them on some kind of principle is pretty stupid too. Also, postcounts help us differntiate from spammers, so no way we could get rid of them, or lower everyone's to 0, or suddenly we'd have an administrative nightmare on our hands.
But yeah, frankly, I'd REALLY rather not have a bunch of idiotic threads about people who've reached personal "hallmarks" of posting, be it their 300th or 4000th or whatever.

You can stop postcounts being displayed next to a user's posts, and appear just in their profile. SJGames forum does it; the people who post a lot are still well-known, but no-one has any particular cred because of their volume of posting, it's the quality, not the quantity, that matters.
You don't need a "0" or "1,276" by someone's post to know if they're a spammer or not; again, you go by their posts' content.
I agree with JimBob here. I hope I'm relatively well known, and I don't have that high of a post count.
I'm no superposter, but I'm not a n00b either!
Putting the count number in the profile makes more sense than displaying it on the public side of things.
If someone is that damn curious - they can just click on the profile doo-hickey to see how many and how often somebody posts.

I'm too lazy to change it, and I don't think its important enough to change. It really doesn't matter. Postcount won't be important on this site if people make sure not to attach fake importance to it. No one here will be getting huge congratulations for their 1000th post or whatever.

I'd like to see postcount moved as well. Then again, there's lots of features I'd like to see added. :)

Dumpshock goes even farther. You can only find how many posts people have if you get a PM from them (that's the only place where the post count appears). They do keep the date someone joins, though.
I'd like to see the postcount removed. It inevitably turns into a reason to mistreat someone.
"Dumpshock" has to be the worst name for a forum I've ever heard. It's like the forum for people who have had aneurisms whilst taking a shit.
Let's not freak out here, people. I kinda think KrakaJak is just screwing with us.

Again, no, i'm not taking away the fucking postcount feature! If you don't want it to become an issue, just fucking "Community police" it.

But you have no problem with theads dedicated solely to attacking an individual.
