Now admittedly that article is from opinion website and connected to a radio show hosted by a Democrat.  Thing is - he may have the story entirely correct.

A few quotes from that article:

This does kind of tick me off for past personal reasons of my own. I'm all in favor of Gay marriages & weddings for one thing.  

Again, I still think his ex-wife's tenuous connection to the Church is a contributing factor. The church's welcoming policy for those who are different from him or that he fears probably accelerated things in his mind.

The bare facts of the case in the indictment:

Jim D. Adkisson, 58, is accused of killing two people and wounding several others in the attack that happened July 27 during a children's performance at the church.

Greg McKendry, 60, and Linda Kraeger, 61, were killed.
