This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

No, seriously.

I understand that The Wolfman isn't that good, but... could someone give this fan a clue?

The only clue that fan deserves is a sound thrashing...
"Meh."

But....but...Stephanie Meyer has said that her people aren't werewolves but "shifters" or something!  I...I dunno.

From the fan's letter:
QuoteI actually started to like werewolves after seeing Jacob Black and all his awesomeness on the big screen at the movies.
Yeah, and, maybe his carefully waxed chest, back, and pubes.  Really, is it any mystery that this is a case of having your cake and eating it too?  It's like the Asian "dragon lady" fetish -- meek and submissive in public, but a monster in bed.

Pity this fan's civilised monster boyfriend fetish was damaged by The Wolfman.

[Edit: After reading the original post, I'm beginning to think this "fan" was an amusing troll. :)]

The Wolfman remake does fuck up all the good done by Dog Soldiers and Ginger Snaps !

Now that's an awesome movie.

See?  This is the problem with a really clever troll.  It's like the time a friend of mine greeted me with a rubber penis sticking out of his pants as a joke -- I had to point out to that, for all intents and purposes, it was the same thing as having a real penis sticking out of his pants, and therefore not much of a joke.  I think this fan e-mail was so well done that, if it was intended as a troll, it was indistinguishable from a genuine knucklehead rant.

(P.S. I haven't seen Dog Soldiers yet.  I believe that I should.)

Dogs is very well done. There's a sly depth there that reminds me of the original Howling. Ginger Snaps is like Heathers meets Cronenberg. A chick going through changes as she goes through the Change. I mean the tagline for the film was a Period Piece.

Never heard of that before, but Googling it brought me to the sci-fi feminist wiki.  Worthwhile just for the surprise value.

Google up the term "rice king", the philosophical counterpart to the "dragon lady".

Hoo, that is...interesting, isn't it?  Are we supposed to have access to that site?
