This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Damn I may need to see 300 after all.

I think this video might shine a new light on what 300 is all about:

The poor still weak the rich still rule

I'm a dial-up drongo so I can't get youtube stuff. So I'm assuming that the thing's a cut from Triumph of the Will?

Passion of the Christ was on tonight, I've got vile sadism and anti-semitism on the mind...

It's amazing how unpopular it is over at the Big Purple. It's all "vile subtext" and "zomfg oh noez orcses! :hissyfit:".

I'm not sure what they paid for, but I paid to go see 300, the adaptation of a Frank Miller graphic novel dramatizing the battle of Thermopylae, accented with a bit more fantastic imagery because it's big-screen Hollywood. And I got my fuckin' money's worth.

That'd be appropriate for when they were pushing the persians over the cliff.

Well you do you strike me as the kind of guy who mixes his racist fantasies with his sexual ones. Convenient.

Good for them.  I am far too busy doing the official workout of 300 to care.  :D

SRSLY GUISE, if they were to sell an OFFICIAL 300 THERMOPYLAE BATTLEPACK PLAYSET and a Leonidas with SHIELD BASHING ACTION or (God forbid) Spartan warriors who fit together in an actual phalanx I would physically shake with the exertion of not marching down to Toys R Us and buying every single one they had in stock.

(I mean Ultimate Warrior shaking, complete with word-salad diatribes and facepaint.)

EDIT:  AND DID YOU SEE THE CREDITS OMG IT WAS LIKE THE COMIC HAD COME TO LIFE AND SO COOL AND THEN THAT GUY WAS ALL STABBING WITH HIS SPEAR AND THE AXE AND

I keep hearing that...what happens during the credits? Me & the Apette slipped out to avoid the rush.

So you object to the racist but not sexual part (Okay that's cool). Hmmm...American History X's shower scene must have really done something for you, right ?

James McMurray

No, I think he's mad that you didn't capitalize the word "racist."

The credits were rolled over a CGI adaptation of certain panels from the 300 comic, most notably the shot of Leonidas with his cape blowing in the breeze.

My mother likes this movie and she's an elementary school reading tutor (complete with seasonal sweaters) who hates movie violence.  300 bridges cultural gaps to brings the young and old together in harmony and dancing.
