Was the Buckaroo Bonzai movies based off a book or a series? I always liked the movie.

You know what end sequence always gets me all misty-eyed?  Red Dawn.

Where is the new generation of R-rated combat movies that the youth of America might jump around pretending to kill commies/aliens/alien commies?
