Title: [avatar]Democracy in action
Post by: Stumpydave on January 21, 2007, 06:20:27 PM
I want an avatar.  But I'm too lazy to get one myself, so....

You lot.  Find me an avatar.  You have a week to find and decide amongst yourselves which one I wear.

Ready....
Set....
GO!!

I can give you a few random ones of my choice, but do you have any preference or personal tastes?

I should note that most animated avatars annoy the fuck out of me.

The ones posted above are no exception.

Everyone's a critic. :D

Anyway, here are a few non-animated ones:

Here are a couple I like:

Oh fuck this board, every time I try to upload an animated gif it fails to load it.

Go tothe forums on //www.scifi.com and check out the avatars of the posters in the battlestar galactica forums, they've for some good ones.

Let's see if going thru phtotbucket works. Normally I wouldn't pout this much effort into helping a lazy slob ;) but if animated avatars annoy pundy I'll go the extra mile to help you get some:

Thats actually kinda funky.  Though the stickmen really appeals to me.  Unfortunately its not up to me.  I only make the rules.

The stickmen...and the variations I could see based on it...are great.

As amusing as annoying Pundit can be, using animated avatars means bigger files, and so slower load times for any poor souls trapped on a dialup connection. But if you do it anyway, definitely go with the stickmen. If you don't, I will. :)

Damn, I'm checking the stickmen avatar's size, and it's 38.5 Kb. The forum's limit is 100 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller). Sorry... :(

Of the previously posted, you can use the Agent Smith, Kovalic's Pink Floyd, and the creepy clown. Here are a few more, if you don't like those:

I'm also fond of the following one, but it exceeds the size limit:

seeing as the stickmen are out of bounds, GRIM's just made me laugh out loud - first time ever from a forum.  The bottom one though, the top dudes a bit too near the knuckle (or knee, or shoulder) for me.

They actually made me feel rather queasy (even the cartoon one).  Something about images like those unnerve me on a visceral level.

Yes, I really don't care for them either, at all.

Whoaaaa! Baron Samedi, accept this chicken gumbo and these bottles of whiskey as payment for releasing one who has succumbed to you touch.

Arise!  Arise thread! Arise from the clutches of Death so that James McMurray may vote and participate.

(well it seemed more fun than typing 'bump')

Dork Floyd or Attempting to Give a Damn definitely, depending on whether you like animation or not.

Stickmen without animation are better than the alternatives.

Hate the amputee ones, they're kind of disturbing and one of them is a real person.

My personal favourites are still the stickmen (if only we could make them fit and animate) and now the scooby doo badge ( or scrappy doo if I'm feeling like a git)

Unfortunatley, for me, the choice is yours.

The Scooby Doo badge isn't bad.

Sorry about the Stickmen. :(
