Hi all!
I am getting back into music again, after 40 years, and thought you might like to hear the progress. This is not yet a final mix, but is well on its way.
Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing Clash. I tried getting back in last year and fell off the wagon with playing. I tried doing a recording of Funeral March of Queen Mary on guitar last year but apparently forgot how to read sheet music and failed to take the key into account (so there are all these strange sour notes in the mix).
What instruments are you playing on this one? What program are you recording in?
I was just about to suggest trying a guitar harmony on the riff and then it comes in at the end. Pretty cool stuff.

I was out of work for a while, and had just invested my previous year's bonus on a sweet Tele and amp, so I practiced an hour every day for six months, which brought back a lot of the skill I thought gone forever. I have never stopped writing songs. I wrote this one mostly last year. Part of the lyric I wrote for Cold Space back in 2005, but I forgot the music from then and the rest of the lyric. I only published a snippet.

I'm playing the tele and singing. Recording in Avid Pro Tools. My producer Paul is playing the SG and percussion.

Thanks! Glad you liked it! It's been a long, long time! :D

That is cool. Glad you kept it up. I worked my way back to roughly where I was before, but I just didn't stick with it enough to keep it going. I was hoping to get back up, then start filling in my music knowledge gaps (which are plentiful).

A telecaster? My uncle has one and they are pretty awesome. It is one of those guitars that I overlooked when I was younger but they sound great and they are nice to play on as well.
I sold my Taylor acoustic so I could pick up a Schecter and amp (In hindsight not the best move, but I wanted to play electric again). I think if I bought another electric I might consider going strat or telecaster this time around. I like Fenders for lead and guitars with humbuckers for power chords.

Yes, a telecaster! Playing a tele is really fun! In my previous incarnation as a musician, I had a Gibson midnight special and a Vox super ace, but a buddy had a tele and I always wanted one. The neck is just so sweet! :D
