I'm really enjoying Eisenhorn right now.

What are other good 40k compilations? Any rogue trader based stories?

I don't really want to read sister of battle stuff.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

40k books I have enjoyed:

Gaunt's Ghosts - I've only read the first 3, but they were good. If you like WWI style warfare, you should like this.

Storm of Iron - Thousand Suns vs. an Imperial World. My favorite 40k book.

Enforcer omnibus - A book about the Arbites. I liked the first one a lot. Part 2 was pretty good, and involved a Rogue Trader. Part 3 is cool from a lore standpoint, but not a great book.

Enjoyed the "Cain," series by Sandy Mitchell meself.
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

I enjoyed the first couple of Horus Heresy books as 'beach reading' but that's as far as I got.
