This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Dumarest

Anybody read the complete D'Artagnan books by Dumas (The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After, The Vicomte de Bragelonne, Louise de la Valliere, The Man in the Iron Mask)? I'm closing in on the last couple of hundred pages of The Man in the Iron Mask and unless it goes bad all of a sudden, I'm going to say it's the best series I've ever read. It's consistently funny, exciting, intriguing, and educational about the culture and mores of the times in which it's set. It's certainly come in very useful when playing Flashing Blades.

Spike

I've only read the first and last.  I like Dumas, but my tastes run more to the fantastical.  I did enjoy 500 Years After, by Brust, for what it's worth.
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.
