This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I work seventy hours a week, bro. Do me a favor and drop some background info on this OATS studio instead of just telling me that 'yo, cool vids brah' and running off for the hills. Are these movies? Series? Some asshole with a youtube account, a decent camera and a too much money to spend?   If I click a video am I in for five minutes of cheesy glory or two fucking hours of 'oh, yeah that was cool.. Two hours ago..."

Help me out.

And if you think this comment was much longer than clicking the videos would have been: Sure. But you are hardly the first, nor the last, to post a thread and/or comment that expected me to work for those all too simple answers. I may, in fact, just copy this whole damn comment and post it like fucking spam every time I see a god damn thread and/or comment that is a vid/pic and a 'yo, check it out' and nothing else.

No. Give me something else or I will put a god damn voodoo fucking hex on your ass. I know people.
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

Sorry, I was in a rush to write.

These are both 20 minutes long film shorts from Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) and are done as experimental pieces by him. However, the shorts are outstanding to watch with a good budget and incredibly inspirational IMHO, they are very evocative and creepy without being disjointed like many student experiment films are. These are an ongoing series of productions by Blomkamp, so more are coming.

And I doubt a voodoo hex can be as bad as what happens in Firebase or RAKKA.

I like Blomkamp, so I'll probably check them out later tonight, after my bout of Wine, Women and Song.

Yeah, as threats go it was pretty lame. Last time I had a bad voodoo hex it really wasn't much worse than a bad rash. A quick trip to the local Doctor cleared it right up.

The description of Firebase has me thinking about some of the short stories of David Drake (I think? Hammer's Slammers guy) set in Vietnam.  He pulled some Cthulu shit, along with some war-horror stuff, in one of his anthologies.  Tonally it was a lot like Nightflyers, now that I think about it.

Firebase has a very Delta Green vibe.

Drake could be a very fine writer at times. Do you remember where you read the story? What you describe sounds a lot like a classic Vietnam-set novella by Jack Cady that appeared in one of those numerous horror anthologies in the 80s.

Just Another Snake Cult

Firebase was like a Planetary-era Warren Ellis comic brought to life.

Very, very, cool.

OATS Shorts called Zygote is out now.

Probably the only thing I have seen Dakota Fanning in that I kinda like.
