Any one have any great IC explictives? I had a viking chacter that would use "three days on a tree!"

The god of protectors, sentinels, and such stole one of the storm goddess' four hounds (four winds). He took the icy north wind to 1) help him protect the world since it's icy nature is implacable, and 2) to prevent her wreaking too much havoc and thus distract him. She was upset.

On occasion, some one says "lost your dog?" when a trick get played on someone that hampers but doesn't hurt them.

"By the hoary hosts of hoggoth" is a classic.

When I am being serious and detailing a fantasy culture, I do tend to think about what the actual oaths, curses and swear/anger words are, and what they aren't. My player packets have a bit where they explain that if a player says things in modern lingo in-character, it tends to mean their character says something appropriate in the PC's own language/culture.

"By all the gods and demons, if there's even a difference: bear witness to my oath that I shall kill you all, raze your homes to the ground, and salt the earth you earned, so nobody would live here and your names shall be forgotten forever".
That's an actual IC oath from a DCC game. It's inspired by historical oaths, too;).

The Rome TV series had a few, although I might be misremembering.

"As hot as Vulcan's ballsack" was one.

'Chell, Amigal', is the battlecry and all around oath-word for the knights of the Armor of Trade.. It is Klaxik, meaning "The Scales, my Friends!"  This one is used a lot by the PCs who choose this Guild.

Pharren was buttressing their efforts, and as he did, the squire of the TradeGod planted himself in front of George and Cucino, as the point of the triangle. 'Chell, thou Foul beast, Chell, Amigal!!', he roared as he bounced the silvered head of his heavy flail off the shoulder of the creature.
The thing screamed, it's wings furiously pumping and it's claws gashing at the newly healed flesh behind Tusnus' damaged armor."

Religious oaths come out a lot.  "Orcus' Anus" is a favorite, As he is a major patron in the game.  "Tits of Inkmisa", or "Favors of the Green Lady" are used for that goddess of lust and trysts.  "Ishma's Blessing" from the goddess of luck is used in game, but it is actually the PLayers invoking of Ishma as they roll the dice that is the most fun..."Come on, Lucky Ishma" is heard that the table a lot, OOC.  Another example of that is "Woerter's Blessing!", as Woerter is a patron of hospitality and so as players arrive with food, they sometimes yell this.

Basically anything God or famous person's Genitalia or Body Fuild is always a surefire guarantee for obscenities.  "Ishtar's Honeyed Teats", "Seed of Set", "Hillary's Spirit Dinner", etc

As was "God's blood", and so 'sblood, 'swounds, zounds, zblood...

Then by setting, "By the power of Grayskull..." (yes, I just watched Hot Fuzz).
