This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Everytime I hear of some new awesome RPG on Kickstarter I log in to find its over. This has happened, damn... several times in the last year or so. Instead of the awesome package the kickstarters receive, I end up waiting for months for a single book, then another...eventually... and so on.

What do I need to do to make sure I hear about these new projects earlier? Is there a mailing list or something Im missing?

Thanks!

Do you do facebook? There's a new games kickstarter group that creators often advertise in, though it's not RPG specific.

Honestly, though, if you have a decent stable of gamer-friends on kickstarter with tastes similar to yours and follow them, I find that is a pretty good source of intel on new kickstarters.
The Secret Volcano Base: my intermittently updated RPG blog.

Running: Pathfinder Scarred Lands, Mutants & Masterminds, Masks, Starfinder, Bulldogs!
Playing: Sigh. Nothing.
Planning: Some Cyberpunk thing, system TBD.

A stable doesn't actually need any horses to be a decent stable, does it? :D

BGG has one for board games so RPGG may have one for RPGs. Just expect to see alot of "not RPGs" listed if they did.

RPG.net has a kickstarter thread. ENWorld has weekly news now that includes kickstarters of note - often KS they like have their own news anouncements. You can subscribe to the "Kickstarter loves games" newsletter via your profile on KS (look in "notices"). Bi-weekly but still would give you some heads up. Also, several publishers here post news about upcoming Kickstarters. Some even post updates to relevant threads about their games.

I think we need to have our own Kickstarter thread at TheRPGsite pinned at the top so creators here can share and so members can find them quickly. It also keeps the news focused on actual news and keeps forum posts focused on the subjects at hand. KS announcements are kind of a hybrid between news, marketing, fan love and game discussion so having a single place could be useful (IMHO).

We got outvoted last time...

There's currently not even a single sticky in the News and Adverts forum.
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

There was a vote? I thought this was a semi-benevolent dictatorship.

Well, there was a Poll, and the Nays had it, so there no reason for anyone to even override popular opinion. :D

I check the kickstarter page about once a week for new RPGs, I even have a bookmark so it automatically sorts them the way I like

We should have a RPG kickstarter sticky thread.

So if we were gonna throw up a poll for everyone to vote on what should the options be?
1. Make a Kickstarter Sticky in the Pen and Paper Roleplaying Games (RPGs) Discussion.
2. Make a new Forum under Pen and Paper Roleplaying Central so that every KS could be it's own post and make things clearer.
3. Make a Kickstarter Sticky in News and Adverts.
4. No, we don't need any changes, go fuck yourself.

Anything else that should go on the poll?

I was going to say. There's already a website with all the Kickstarter projects listed on it in one place.
