This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

[Shadowrun] - Adjusting adventures for newer editions

I'm in the process of gearing up for a Shadowrun game and there are a number of adventures from past editions that I want to use. Of course, there's going to be the requisite conversion, substitutions, and whatnot with regard to stats, but what I'd like to know is this: when it comes to the PCs getting paid, do you "adjust" for "inflation" between editions? If so, how much?

Thanks!

Shadowrun 5E actually has a set of guidelines for how much nuyen people should get paid.  As I don't recall there being similar guidelines in the older books, I'd say inflation is not much of a concern.  If you want to account for such, do an inventory on the equipment lists and see how much the prices for equivalent items have changed to estimate a percentage.

Good points. My game is fourth edition, so I wasn't aware of the info in the fifth edition.

Thanks!
