This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Curt sacked as Mod on tBP.

I'd like to change my vote on the old theRPGsite being unfriendly to women thread. At that point I said I'd never seen anything to point to the site being in any way misogynistic. Now I have.

To be fair, its not the Site.

Pundit obviously subscribes to the Ladder Theory of women. q.v.

That said, my ex-(thank god) wife was pretty much a slave driver who got furious at everything I loved and everyone I loved doing it with. Only through sheer pig-headedness did I manage to keep gaming and keep my friends the one night a week that we've gathered since I was 11 years old. My only regret is that I have the patience of a Saint and stuck it out for 10 years before it finally got to be too much. 10 years I'll never have back.

Ah well.

True, it isn't the entire site, but a site's owner and most vocal participant sets the tone for visitors. You have to fight past that and then stay around a while to see what we're really like.

Awww...do you not like me, Nox? :bawling:

Oh no!  :melodramatic:   Whatever shall I do?

Why don't you watch sports, nox?  Parents take away your TV rights?  Don't get good reception living in their basement? Mommy won't take you to a game?

Those are rhetorical, Noxious One.

Watching sports is too tiring. He has to save his energy for saving the world, one silly rant at a time.

Quote from: SettembriniSo it´s all about him?
Not the abstracted, higher form of discourse, that takes the impetus of a biased utterance, and flys to the heights of western philosophical talk, or at least a downwatered version of it?

It´s just him you are concerned about?
And you want to change him and only him?

Much time and space for denouncing one single man´s online revelations...
Save that screed for someone else, guy. I'm just telling you that the conversation is less about who Pundit chooses to become aquainted with and how, and more about how people are unhappy with how he views women.

You can understand what I'm saying or not, I guess. It doesn't stress me out any. Though, I am attracted by the circus of it all.

I've got a blog. Do you read other people's blogs? I dunno. You can say hi if you want, though, I don't mind company. It's not all gaming, though; you run the risk of running into my RL shit.

...Actually Nox might have been doing one of his "boring obligatory digs at Koltar"  because I said  a World Series win by the Chicago Cubs might  make  my old man happy.

Quotemore about how people are unhappy with how he views women.

So his puny little views on life are meaningful and important to you?
Did I get that right?

Back on track (sort of) ....I'm not a fan of the "Big Purple & Pink", but am very glad that Curt got sacked.  Didn't care for his orierntation and sex life being mentioned every time he gave someone a warning .

Quote from: KoltarDidn't care for his orierntation and sex life being mentioned every time he gave someone a warning .

Y'know, the problem with hyperbole is that it makes it that much easier to dismiss honest criticism.

Just sayin'.

Koltar

...and your "just sayin" means a whole lot of nothing.

Curt  kept announcing that about himself repeatedly - it got boring. He saw hideen agendas where they weren't any.

By the same reasoning I find everyone talking about Pundit's version of a sex life pretty boring also.
I don't care who Curt fucks and I don't care who Pundit fucks.

As a moderator , Curt was just a jerk most of the time.  As an adminsitrator/moderator  Pundit is one cranky sarcastic cuss who swears quite a bit - but he appears mostly fair.

If either one of them were at my game table - I hope they could focus on the game and try to have a good time with an RPG for a few hours.

Shit, I'd wear it. If it were of good quality, maybe with a tasteful logo. Not one of those awful, shirt-spanning ones. And no goddamn dragons! I'd off myself lest I be seen sporting generic geek swag. -.-

Quote from: SettembriniSo his puny little views on life are meaningful and important to you?

No, actually. I was just trying to clairify something for you. To be more clear, I was kind of interested in pointing you in the direction of the conversation so your points had more to do with the thread at hand. I'm losing interest pretty fast though, because you seem to be more interested in what motivates my one-line clairification then addressing the people who have issues with the Pundit and, by extension, yourself.

Personally, I seriously disagree with the man. I have a great relationship, and it's nothing at all like he describes. But I don't really feel the need to rail at him online, because it wouldn't do anything. I save my energy for things that matter.
