The Evil Overlord wants to be loved. The problem is the Evil Overlord thinks "love" is prostrated worship and obedience. The bigger problem is he suspects he might be wrong and the PC's are to blame. Therefore... someone's gotta die.

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

A worthy husband for his daughter. Sadly, all the worthy suitors want nothing to do with an an evil overlord so he must kidnap them all and make them fight to the death to find the ideal son in law. One by one, promising sons of major houses are abducted thoughout the land.

The Evil Overlord aims to carve his name into history in a fashion he determines.  Anyone his mindbenders identify as able and willing to speak, write, or otherwise communicate his acts and nature, must die before he does, and their works must perish as well.

The Evil Overlord already has it all on this plane (planet?).  Now, his troops pour onto other worlds, returning with riches undreamed of.  He aims to establish a perpetual cycle of conquest by which the empire he founded will grow exponentially and one day conquer all.

The Evil Overlord was once a terror, but has since gone to fat; he wants to relive the glory days.

The Evil Overlord wants just a little time after an exhausting conquest.  Just a few years and his forces will be ready to cross the sea.
