This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I think it has more to do with how that site pulls its data and how RPGgeek's site is designed. RPGgeek is really more of a database that happens to have a forum. Its forum definitely has more activity than some other entries on that link.

Members is a useless metric, hit the dropdown and look at posts.
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

By its very nature it means that RPGnet can never be at the top and will continue to decline.

RPGPundit

I think a much more relevant measurement would be only of activity/growth in the past year.

Likewise, if there were some way to differentiate those forums that are only RPG-related forums from those that are RPG + something else (be it RPG plus the fandom of a specific web-comic, or rpgs plus whatever Tangency is).

Quote from: Godfather Punk;829562At least we're 'bigger' than the WotC forums. ;)
(Would that be D&D only, or also including the Magic forums?)

The combination of 4e and Gleemax devastated the WotC forums.  Hardly worth looking at anymore, which is sad because it used to have really good conversations.

They have quite a number of crazy-long running threads, mostly in the 'general chat' section.

ah yes of course outliers will throw it out. I would be interested to see this matter looked at more throughly

What happened? I only ever went there years ago for MtG.
Battle doesn\'t need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don\'t ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don\'t ask why I fight.
