This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Barrowmaze hardcopy maps?

I recently got Barrowmaze and am barrow-mazed at the coolness of the setting, critters, bad guys, etc. But the chopped up maps in the backs of the books are giving me a massive case of the shits. I just can't stand the notion of running a dungeon in which a large fraction of the rooms are bisected and spread across two non-facing pages. Argh!!  I understand one can buy and print pdfs of the full maps, but I'm a lazy fuck and can't be bothered to spend half a day messing around at Staples. I also know some of these were printed for the kickstarter. Does anyone know if more hard copy maps are available anywhere?

RPGPundit

I'm really, really surprised that the publisher of Barrowmaze wouldn't have made a full-sized jpg or pdf of the map available for download; if not for free then at least freely available to those who purchased the product!

I don't want to talk smack about a good product, but that is spot on. I spent over 50 bucks on books and have only the chopped up maps unless I want to spend another 17 for a pdf (that I then have to print somewhere!).

Are you kidding?

There are two types of OSR products, I think. One designed to be played as widely as possible, done for minimal (if any profit). The other is designed to be as expensive as possible (presumably to be profitable).

Barrowmaze falls into the latter category. I mean, the PDF itself is nearly $20 for a 90 page book

(And somehow in 90 pages, it manages to have about 10x as many rats in rooms as Dwimmermount does in 300 pages. I'm not saying it's terrible, but nowhere near the hype it gets)

Anyway, there is a separate his res map PDF for only $6.66

or you get the same for I&II for only $20

http://www.rpgnow.com/product/105614/Barrowmaze-I-and-II-Map-HiRes

(And yet for Dwimmermount, I got the Hardcover book, the illo book, the map book, PDFs of same, PDFs of ACKS and ACKS companion, all for $40. That was way too good a deal, but Barrowmaze is the exact opposite)

maybe so, but for me Barrowmaze was one of the most successful megadungeons I've ever run.

I love Barrowmaze, backed all the indiegogo campaigns, but no map for this guy other than printing off the map and cutting and taping them together. I wish I could get one. Barrowmaze I used to 6.66$ for the PDF, when did it go up!
