Medicine is by default a Wisdom skill, but you might be right; if I took out all mention of an ability the DM could decide- maybe based on the type of injury that's predominant.

I am obviously invested on the subject and I think your rules are okay. They make resting and being dated for after injury important, without getting bogged down in detail.

You might want to couple it with a 0 HP injury table like WFRP's "criticals" or ACKS' Mortal Wounds, if you'd like to add a risk of sequelae and permanent disability. But if you don't, they're fine as-is.

Wow. I have the endorsement (with caveats) of an actual medical doctor. Awesome.

I have considered a table of long term injuries. I might add that in the next version.
Also, would you have a problem with a somewhat simplified or more predictable math for the next version, or do you think it would lose something? I personally like the swinginess of 3d20 but if it makes the system better I'd change it.

Just to recap, the next version is likely to have:

-A Reversed order of description for the phases, more in line with how they are likely to come up in play.

-Intentionally omitted Wisdom as the ability for the Medicine check to encourage DMs to use Intelligence if they prefer.  

-Simplified math and clearer, more concise writing. I wrote this version very quickly.

-Possibly more influence from Constitution in Phase 1.

-One or more tables of long term injuries, probably based on the final or predominant type of wound. If these wounds aren't handled with magical healing, they become permanent once you reach full HP (without high level spells).
