This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Then again, maybe I'd know there were two, if, oh, I dunno they FILED THEM UNDER "D?" You now..."D?"...for Dragon? (really, guys? "Y" is for "Dragon?").

The Dragons entered into a witness protection program after turning state's evidence in on the Terrasque.

Quote from: Sacrosanct;779094Yeah, I don't get how they organized the monsters either.  Pretty stupid actually.  I don't want to flip through the entire monster manual just to look up different ages of dragons.

They took the list thing far too seriously given that is a charopper's favorite tool. They didn't trust natural language and how multiclassing actually works to be enough. Very sad now.
Don\'t mess with cats we kill wizards in one blow.;)

I continue to boggle at why the races aren't listed alphabetically in the PHB. Super annoying to flip through them. Definitely a few weird decisions here and there.

I'd like to see the DMG now.

The section on Combat Encounters leaves me a bit chilled. One of the best things about 3.0 to me was CR and the way you use that to give XP for overcoming an encounter, not just by combat but by any means possible. That seems to be missing so far from 5E, but I am hoping that it shows up in the DMG because it really does expand the game in ways that I enjoy.
"Meh."

Quote from: Saplatt;779067What have you got against Devil Swine?

Not much, though I find them redundant with regular wereboars. Mostly I just feel like their slot could go to something that's more of a fan favorite.

Quote from: snooggums;779050Where there enough changes between the Player's Guide v1 and v2 to make it worth reprinting?

There is a changelog on the webpage

QuoteCHANGE LOG
This change log indicates significant updates from the previous version of the D&D Basic Rules.

Added acid splash and poison spray spells.
Added noble background.
Added appendix containing the Forgotten Realms deities.
Added appendix containing descriptions of the five factions that feature in the D&D Adventurers League.
Legal text added to the footer to allow reproduction for personal purposes.

Personally I would wait until after the DMG is out before printing it out again.

So far at first glance seems like they added one or two new spells and the Noble background. Will have a more in depth look later.

Typo in the size category list.

Small and Medium are both listed as 5x5ft.

Addendum: Possible typo. Could be intentional.
