This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Yep, I misremembered it.  I had mistakenly recalled it being something like roll a number of Fudge dice indicated by the rank of the stat or skill.

Ah! One of my reasons for asking was to see if any system used a "roll nd6 and keep 3" mechanic. I have a few ideas to mash that up with the coloured dice from Don't Rest Your Head.

Hollowpoint looks good. ORE is OK but I vastly prefer d6 to d10 - I think number recognition is faster.

:D

I don't know DRYH or Hollowpoint. ORE seems okay, but I only gave the resolution a cursory glance. I'm woefully behind on keeping up with the Jones's.

Quote from: thedungeondelver;618647Ah; I knew T&T had a d6 resolution system, didn't know it was d6 pools.

It is a weird pool system as you roll a handful of dice, add a relatively large number, and then add all results of one side in a conflict together (a party of heroes). The same for the other side of the conflict (say, 5 orcs). The difference is divided among the characters or monsters of the losing side and applied to their stats/monster ratings as damage (diminishing the size of the pool/adds).

L5R/7S has this, with d10 though.
Swords & Wizardry & Manga ... oh my.
(Beware. This is a Kickstarter link.)

There's some system out there called 6d6.

I think Eclipse Phase is based on rolling 6d6.

2nd post, I think. Worth repeating though because Atlas have released the SRD for WaRP, which is nice of them.

Also worth repeating because it's OTE and awesome.

d6 Fantasy
d6 Adventure
d6 Space

It is an easy and flexible system.

Others by WEG, that are not free, but the same basic system:
Paranoia (1984)
Torg (1990)
The World of Indiana Jones (1994)
The World of Tank Girl (1995)
Shatterzone (1997)
Men in Black (1997)
Bloodshadows

~Nitehood
None of the above games use the D6 System. Paranoia was percentile, then d20 roll under. TORG used a single exploding d20. The others used the Masterbook system which was a derivative of the TORG system.

Jim.

Come to think of it, I think Space 1889 used a D6 dice pool for one of it's two skill systems.

One skill system was roll 1d6 under your skill rating.

The other skill system was the more traditional, roll Xd6, add them up, and compare to a difficulty number.

I know. It really tempts me to do something with that system.
