This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What new shows are any good?

This might still be a bit early; but I'm always on the lookout for any new tv series that might actually be worth watching (and it seems like there's less and less of these, and thus harder to find them in the steaming ocean of crap that TV has turned into, every year). If you think there's a new show out that shows promise, let me know.

I'm curious to see how Revolution is.  I think it starts next Monday.  They are definitely taking advantage of the whole Hunger Games survivalist popularity going around.

Other that than, I really like Grimm.  The 2nd season just started.  But I'm a bit biased since they do some of the filming downstairs from me in my building.
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

I tried watching that but after giving it about 5/6 episodes thought it was a bit rubbish. Still, plenty of people didn't as it got a second series.

I'm happy The Republic of Doyle is coming back for season 4. After Russell Crowe was in an episode of season 3 everyone will be lining up to do it.

Revolution has me interested.  My favorite show is Walking Dead though it's been on for 3 years already iirc.

Copper isnt bad It's set in new york back when it was a lawless hellhole(kinda gangs of new york sorta era) and is a BBC America production which is a first for them.

Other than that Arrow looks like it'll either be really good or complete crap(given its by CW) so may be worth a look once it begins in october.

If you havent already give Hell on Wheels a look its pretty darned good imo.

I may give Revolution a nosey for a few episodes since the premise sounds interesting though it has the potential to suck ballz just as easily if the writers get all preachy on us instead of exploring the concepts the setting presents.

Yep, Hell on Wheels is good.

I enjoyed the first season of Hell on Wheels. Haven't started watching the second season yet.

I must say Copper sounds kind of interesting. Does one have to be familiar with historical facts to make sense of what's going on?

Both of these are also interesting for me because of my late 1860s western campaign that I plan to run.

White Collar and The Mentalist are my two current guilty pleasures.

But I must say that Strike Back has been my go-to show for pure action-adventure. Once a week I get to just sit back and enjoy the ride...

One Horse Town

Vikings by the BBC is pretty good. Only 3 parts, mind. Presented by the same guy who does Coast (which is also very interesting if you haven't sought it out already).

Other than that, i'm reaching. I have next to nothing that i regularly watch anymore. I'm working my way through the Rockford Files at the moment.

I just watched the pilot episode of Revolution. It was pretty good. They established a bunch of characters very well. Parts of it were a bit goofy or maybe over-simplified, but I think this show has some real potential.

Heh.  I did too.  Literally just finished it.  You're right.  Pretty decent show.

The Traveller

I'm tuned in to Supernatural, Warehouse 13, Merlin, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Legend of Korra, and Fringe. Or I will be when the next seasons come out.

Just Game of Thrones, Walking Dead and Fringe here.

Oh, and Modern Family.

That there's a darn good list of shows.

I've seen "Hatfields & McCoys" is coming to the UK this autumn. Was it any good?
