This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

QuoteYoda: Premonitions, premonitions. These visions you have...
Anakin Skywalker: They are of pain, suffering. Death.
Yoda: Yourself you speak of, or someone you know?
Anakin Skywalker: Someone.
Yoda: Close to you?
Anakin Skywalker: Yes.
Yoda: Careful you must be when sensing the future Anakin. The fear of loss is a path to the dark side.
Anakin Skywalker: I won't let these visions come true, Master Yoda.
Yoda: Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed that is.
Anakin Skywalker: What must I do, Master Yoda?
Yoda: Train yourself to let go... of everything you fear to lose.
This was the scene I found the most compelling because I felt like it represented the moment the Jedi truly failed. I could see how desperate anyone would feel in that moment, and Yoda responded to Anakin's desperation with another fortune cookie platitude. Maybe I'm reading into that scene something that wasn't intended, but you could get why Anakin would write off the tone-deaf Jedi.
Running: Dogs of WAR - Beer & Pretzels & Bullets
Planning to Run: Godbound or Stars Without Number
Playing: Star Wars D20 Rev.

A lack of moderation doesn\'t mean saying every asshole thing that pops into your head.

Yeah, the Jedi are so in denial about emotions that they handle someone having major issues very poorly.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

this. What a waste of James Earl Jones. It could have been the best scene in the film. Anything would have been better than "Nooooooooo!!!!".

I'm fairly sure this wasn't intended, but I agree 100% with the sentiment.

The only reasons I didn't sympathize with Anakin are (1) child murder, and (2) because whatsisname is such a crap actor, even for the prequels' low standards.

Quote from: StormBringer;560965You know what's even more fun than watching the prequels?  Watching the Red Letter Media reviews of the prequels!

One can always count on some douche posting a link to that fuckhead's videos.

If you're entertained by watching Red Letter Moron then you really need to stay away from the computer because the guy is half a fuckwit and his stupidity and dishonesty are known to be contagious. Or, as Mike Wong accurately described this marvel of intellect:

QuoteJesus Fucking Christ, is this guy honestly that goddamned stupid? He can't understand the plot of a Star Wars film? We're not talking about "Rashomon" here, for fuck's sake. The plot is as linear as they come. If anything, the film tries too hard to fill in all the gaps. This guy must be a flaming retard.

Full flaming retard, that is.

The crappy story is pretty much what he makes fun of almost entirely.
