This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Thundarr Sourcebook

Ghost Whistler

Quote from: Doom;519819But, it's all about the Sun Sword...Thundarr without his bloody Sun Sword is a wuss. I loved it as a kid for a while, but every episode was all about the Sun Sword saving the day.

Give me Conan, who can pick up a rusty dagger and hold off the Stygian army any day of the week, and can commit battlefield atrocities with the jawbone of an ass that are unfit to mention in any holy book.

But Conan doesn't fly helicopters.
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

Silverlion

For the record: Fan made, like the OTE "Under the Broken Moon" materials for Thundarr.

And no--it wasn't about the sword. Sure the sword let him do a lot, but Thundarr picked people up and threw them around. The sword let him go toe to toe with wizards.

Of course I loved one fan's view. Thundarr doesn't stop and think, my friend is in danger down there and here I am on this cliff what should I do? No, Thundarr goes "Friend in danger!" JUMP!

He's the guy who backs you up, helps you out. He may not be bright, but that's what he has Ariel for..

No, I'm pretty sure that context isn't in the show. Mostly because Ariel obviously likes him, and he doesn't seem to notice at all. It comes across is he is everyone's (good) big brother. There to get you out of jams. Help you out. He just doesn't get that Ariel doesn't want that...she wants something else.

So you're saying he was fucking the Mok?

Weird...my post got eaten?

Tarnation, an eaten post.

Anyway, here goes, in brief: what REH story has Conan seriously considering forcing himself into a woman?

I admit that if I met Conan in an alley, he'd probably rob me...but I'd still have more fun with him than with Thundarr afterwards.

As far as marrying sister, Conan, all the way. Having a brother in law as king would be good, and I'm sure to be an uncle.

On the other hand, Thundarr marrying my sister? Not much chance of becoming an uncle, I suspect.

And as a kid, *I* found every episode being about the Sun Swooooord to be pretty annoying after awhile.

Frost Giant's Daughter I think, not that I'm any kind of Conan expert. Anyway I'm trying to make any serious point here.
New! Cyberblues City - like cyberpunk, only more mellow. Free, fully illustrated roleplaying game based on the Fudge system
Bounty Hunters of the Atomic Wastelands, a post-apocalyptic western game based on Fate. It\'s simple, it\'s free and it\'s in colour!

He was taunted and teased in a very hardcore manner, that involved trying to be slain by two frost giants.
Furthermore, I consider that  This is Why We Don\'t Like You thread should be closed

Neither does Thundarr.  That was the Mok.

But hey, I didn't find that nearly as odd as I thought a helicopter sitting around for 2000 years still able to fly was.

In Thundarr's case, it really is likely to be magic.

Yeah, even as I acknowledge that, sort of, he was in a way a kind of would-be rapist...it was in the case of a teasing demigod that tried to get him murdered so she could serve his steaming heart to her father, a god.

Still, I wouldn't rule out him 'raping' the female snow-nymph that teased him hardcore; all bets are off after you try to murder Conan, after all.

One of my favorite scenes is where Thundarr jumps up into the face of a large monster and says, "Listen, fiend..." only to have the monster swat him aside like a bug.

When my group ran a Thundarr game, I played the impatient barbarian.  He could wait, at most, for about 15 minutes and then would have to do something to solve things his way.  It was a lot of fun to play but sometimes the character was pretty annoying for the other players.

What? He waited for 15 minutes? Call that impatient? Patience of a Saint, in my book.
