This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ok, so there are 26 candidates for the next ENnies' judges... this is your chance to place your bets: which one will be proven to be corrupt? Which one will create a scandal that will piss off the powers-that-be; and which one will create the exact same scandal but get off scott-free because of some difference in networking or demographic?

No fair voting for the ones who we already know are proven cunts, like, well.. basically any of the guys who were already judges before.

It seems this may also be a good spot for those of us up for candidacy this year to answer questions or probes or take bribes (kidding). I'm not going to "campaign", as you're all smart enough to vote for those you prefer.  I'm simply willing to be accessible to help clarify or expand on anything seen on my nomination.

I don't vote, but if I did, I'd vote for the ginger lawyer and the guy who only has one name.

Hooper. Couple of questions:

a) Any relation to Mr. Hooper? Bonus points if so.

b) I noticed you rank Cortex pretty highly on your games list, but not Savage Worlds. The systems are often compared. Is there something you like better in Cortex?

I can only imagine (and hope) people are more judicious with their use of email and voting suggestions this year.

Honestly, I think it's going to be a pretty dead, pretty quiet year.

Ah, starting tough:

a) No. However the very first episode I ever personally saw was the one that deals with Big Bird trying to understand his death. Talk about confusion.

b) I am actually quite fond of Savage Worlds. However, I don't care for the use of cards. They always seem to slow us down. A easy enough fix (do initiative differently). Really, I think SW would still be a top favorite, I've just had better personal experience with Cortex keeping the game moving without the need to pause and check a rule as often.

Uhm how corrupt we looking at here? I mean it is like West Virginia politics, where coal and gas industry over-ride some of the concerns about the environment until the 'union' comes along? Or we talking like a certain Governor of a certain state that has had a history of 7 of the last 10 being corrupt and in jail?

Imagine the possibilities! As a corrupt ENnies judge, if you play your cards right, shake the right hands, scratch the right backs, you could rake in up to

ONE  HUNDRED  DOLLARS

And then you can tell your younger brother who worked for Lehman Brothers to suck it!

Imp,

I'd rather work at Lehman Bros....

Would you corrupt the selection process for the ENnies...
...for a Klondike Bar?

I wrote a game called After Sundown. You can Bittorrent it for free, or Buy it for a dollar. Either way.

With the polls open, don't shy away from asking us judge nominees anything. Whether you vote for or against me, I'd rather you feel informed when doing so.

Likewise.

If you care at all about the ENnies than your participation is what it is going to take to make it into something that better represents your ideals.

LOL - interesting selection criteria

C.W. Richeson is one of the best game reviewers I know, and I've spoken with him through IRC many times and been consistently impressed with his insight and comments on game products we've both purchased. I wish he would come back and post here more often. He is also a ginger, and somewhere in the transition between lawyer and law student last I heard.

Hooper seems to have more practical experience than almost anyone else running, made a commitment to run all of the games put forth (and has the resources to actually follow through) and provided a semi-clear example of his gaming philosophy.

Also, both have easily derived nicknames - "C-Dubs" and "Hoops" respectively.
