This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Here's the situation: A fairly funny new tv series that was all set to skyrocket to fame is somehow dragged into bringing in Gnomes into the series' story.  Shortly thereafter, FOX announces the cancellation of this series after less than a half-season.

What happened?
Why did they bring a Gnome onto the show?
Why did the Gnome want this show ruined?
WHY?!

Well assuming the title is a reference to Oscar Wilde didn't he attack the fairy craze loved by his other writers? Gnomes had a hand in that.

I half-liked Running Wilde. What does a gnome have to do about it?

No, its not a reference to Oscar Wilde.  Its just the name of the main character from the comedy show, sadly now cancelled, written by the guys who made Arrested Development and staring the guy who'd played Gob on that show.

Well, exhibit A is that in the "wedding" episode, the main character creates a "gnome" mocking the hippie character played by the actor who portrayed Tobias on Arrested Development.

I'm not sure I saw that episode. I'll have to look for it.

When I was in high school I once ran a D&D session where the party encountered Oscar Wilde.

He had the Hand of Vecna.

It wasn't quite up to snuff when compared to Arrested Development.  But for the most part it did hit all the same buttons and certainly had some stand out moments.  Yes it utterly sucks that it was cancelled.  That kind of comedy doesn't come around often enough and at that caliber.

Well, we still have The Community, at least for now.
