This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Heh, I kind of agree with your conclusion. I played my share of CoC. n the plus side it did tend to bring out the more character-orientated side out of the players which is good, but the doom and gloom would not be my first choice of gaming.

Also, a lot of the investigation seemed to be pretty shallow in the end. You spend so much effort researching these horrors in game and most of it doesn't really help. I mean if you're just going to blast the damn thing with dynamite at the end does it really matter is Gozer was worshipped by the Sumerian or the Hittites?
New! Cyberblues City - like cyberpunk, only more mellow. Free, fully illustrated roleplaying game based on the Fudge system
Bounty Hunters of the Atomic Wastelands, a post-apocalyptic western game based on Fate. It\'s simple, it\'s free and it\'s in colour!

Yes. :)

@Tetsubo: You know that you can't take an edge twice unless it says so itself?
So, IIRC, there's no way to build a SAN-preserving character that would gain Knowledge (Mythos) AND save his/her sanity.
Rynu-Safe via /r/rpg/ :
Quote"I played Dungeon World once, and it was bad. I didn\'t understood what was happening and neither they seemed to care, but it looked like they were happy to say "you\'re doing good, go on!"

My character sheet was inexistant, and when I hastly made one the GM didn\'t care to have a look at it."

Yes, I know. But if you bolster your Spirit and recovery methods, you wouldn't go irretrievably bonkers. But like I said, I wouldn't invite you to dinner either.
