This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What do you want to play/run RIGHT NOW?

Play?  Cyberpunk 2020 - it's been so long, and I have been jonesing to play it forever.

Run?  Pendragon

To be honest, I'd like to be playing in a game that I was running. No one caters to my tastes more than me. :) Probably Burning Wheel or perhaps this Diaspora one-shot that I've been working on.

Failing that, an absolutely kick-ass AD&D dungeon crawl with a fiendishly clever but fair GM and 5th-7th level characters would be groovy.

For me, right now... I'd play a Labyrinth Lord game. You?

No, and you can post several times, whenever you feel like it, with different answers, if you want to.

Right now, I'd love to run Ptolus again. With Pathfinder rules, maybe. Or 4E, with a post-apocalyptic bend to the whole setting.

Simlasa

Now I'm leaning more towards WFRP... with a fantasy pirate theme.

Oh, I forgot to mention Diaspora.

But my current players aren't really into scifi.  :(

Well, two of them would play, but the other few were all grumpy the last time I suggested scifi.  They're prettymuch into fantasy and horror, and that's about it.
"In a way, the Lands of Dream are far more brutal than the worlds of most mainstream games. All of the games set there have a bittersweetness that I find much harder to take than the ridiculous adolescent posturing of so-called \'grittily realistic\' games. So maybe one reason I like them as a setting is because they are far more like the real world: colourful, crazy, full of strange creatures and people, eternal and yet changing, deeply beautiful and sometimes profoundly bitter."

Maybe through in some Marvel FASERIP, to keep it from getting stale.

I have a fairly sweet, intricate Heroscape board layed out on my game table at the moment. A couple years ago, I took several of the more medieval fantasy looking figures and statted them, their armor, and their weapons for Metal, Magic, and Lore. I could conceive of a reasonably complex tactical scenario in about ten minutes, call a few friends in five minutes, switch out the necessary figures in ten minutes, dig up that character file and set up the game in another five minutes, and be ready to play before the friends could get snacks and be here.

But they would probably rather play Tunnels and Trolls. Which is cool, I guess.

I'm glad I have friends. :)
