This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Cool.  Was this back when Michael Schenker was playing guitar for UFO?

Well, sort of. I think he was on one of his well documented periods of being "missing". So, whilst he was a member of the band, my bro never got the meet him, let alone play with him. :D

While we're talking about him...

17 replies and no mention of Manowar yet!?!

It's not my kinda music AT ALL, but the cleaning crew the local convention,The Dirtbusters, listens to a lotta Manowar and I figure it would be spot on for Metal D&D, tracks like Battle Hymn, March for Revenge (By the Soldiers of Death) and Black Wind, Fire and Steel.
Running: Call of Cthulhu
Playing: Mainly boardgames

No chance! The drummer was a cousin of my brother's friend at the time and they used a family retreat a few miles from here to keep in practise whilst not touring and in the UK. My bro played the drums with them a few times when they were over here and resting. :)

For a long time, I ran Warhammer FRP to Savatage's album Hall of the Mountain King (1987).  The whole album (with the possible exception of the first track) works well for dark fantasy role-playing:

The tracks are:

Beyond the Doors of the Dark
Legions
Prelude to Madness & Hall of the Mountain King
The Price You Pay
White Witch
Last Dawn
Devastation

Other good Savatage tracks from 1983-1984 include:

By the Grace of the Witch
Dungeons are Calling
Sirens

Some of the album covers aren't too bad as inspiration, either:

Savatage is best known for this track from their Dead Winter Dead album, which led their alter-ego Trans-Siberian Orchestra (who I've seen in concert several times -- great stuff).
