This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

"I'd like to prevaricate that there ain't none-such thing as the Mafia. It's all wicked insultin' Hollywood hyperbola, designated t' slanduh hahd-workin' Italians livin' in the Boston Metronomical Area"
"And you are suggesting... what? That this show is inventing these occurances?"
"Nah, just suggestin' that the last talk radio guy what kept discussin' about suchlike ended up wicked drunk and takin' a walk off Fan Piah in Febyu.. Feb.. the wintah! What a retahd!"
"Thanks, Guido! And now a message from Giant Glass: We all know what a pain it is to drive around with bullet holes in your windshield, especially when it's snowing. Last time it happened to me, I took a tip from an anonymous source and went to Giant Glass - call 'em at 1-800-54-GIANT. They were fast, professional, and had a lot of practice. Now my car looks like new again except for the rust spots!"

That is some authentic Revere dialogue.

The players are actually based out of Revere in the game. They spend some time in Lynn too.

Quote from: greatamericanfolkhero;380384I'm currently running a Ghostbusters game in GURPS (it's our "teach ourselves gurps" game) that's a sequel/reboot of a Ghostbusters game I ran for a year in d20 modern. We're having a good time of it. The rookie of the team recently earned his nametag a few sessions ago when he successfully wrangled a ghost that was giving everyone trouble (last time I give anything a 13 dodge for a while) into a trap while standing on a fishing boat at the RV and outdoor sport show.

I'm slowly putting together a game that combines elements from the group's favorite sci-fi series. I'm planning on running that one next year.

Ghostbusters sounds like an awesome setting for a modern game.

I've been a huge fan of Ghostbusters for as long as I can remember, and it lets me justify a lot without needing stretch the setting. They've fought ghosts, werewolves, Lovecraftian horrors and once set an owlbear on fire.
(I ran the London GBs through a classic dungeon crawl filled to the brim with old Gygaxian monsters like displacer beasts and rust monsters in as a tribute game after Gygax had died. In game they were there to rescue David Tennant after the prop tardis fell into a sinkhole at the BBC quarry.)
It's a great universe to set a game!
