This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Was FVLMINATA published after 2000? If it was, I am totally there.

Alternatively, although I generally consider it old-school in tone, Zenobia is a wonderful retake on fantasy adventuring - it is no accident the author, Paul Elliot, also came up with the idea of Mazes&Minotaurs.

The problem is not that power corrupts, but that the corruptible are irresistibly drawn to the pursuit of power. Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito.

More like kind of bland and a bit boring TOOL OF THE DEVIL.
Read my blog, Monsters and Manuals, for campaign ideas, opinionated ranting, and collected game-related miscellania.

Buy Yoon-Suin, a campaign toolbox for fantasy games, giving you the equipment necessary to run a sandbox campaign in your own Yoon-Suin - a region of high adventure shrouded in ancient mysteries, opium smoke, great luxury and opulent cruelty.

Yeah, that's a good one.  If I had ever managed to actually play it, it would've been my fav (I think -- playing it might have changed my opinion).  I only mentioned the post-2000 game that I actually played and liked.

For me it's a tie between REIGN and Dark Heresy.

I must be one of the few people on the planet who doesn't love Savage Worlds; either that, or it's as much of an RPGsite darling as it is an RPG.net darling ;). Then again, my experience with it was in the context of the "Necessary Evil" campaign, which I understand wasn't the system's finest hour.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

Naw... I know a number who dislike it. Me amongst them. It kept the worst bits of Deadlands.

And I forgot Dark Heresy.... Also excellent. But really, it shouldn't count because mechanically, it's WFRP 2.1... and the setting as well is 1980's.

Not at all, I was immediately put off by the combination of imbecilic mascot + flavourless (IMHO) system. Interestingly, it had a cult following on Dragonsfoot of all places.

The mascot put me off it as well, but a great guy in the local scene was super-enthused about it and converted a bunch of people.

Thank God Jeff mentioned Savage Worlds.  I was struggling to think of one and I couldn't...!  "Mechwarrior 2nd ed?  Lord no, that was like 1994...Oh!  Hero System 5!  No...no, that game started in 1980, just a rules revision so it doesn't count.  Oh!  Silhouette!  crap, 1996..." :D
