This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Semina would be back in action sooner if someone had a means to clear up her vision...    ;)

Kagan was pondering the words of the mage during this time. "Naren", the half-orc calls as he walks to him, "you say this continual light devilry would have been permanent due to a link to this place's magic? Do you suspect anything else about the magic permeating the mansion? Does it have effects on each and every spell, including yours?"

"Any other side-effects you would have noticed?"

StormBringer

I'll take over for Naren until Narf returns

"As I understand things, when you cast the spell, a connection to the divinity powers it.  Lacking this connection, our version taps into the magic that permeates all planes.  I am not sure how it would work on a plane that is deficient in magic..." Naren trails off for a moment, then continues, "...of course, in some ways, a plane is tied to the divinities present there, so if my spell draws on the magical weave of a plane, perhaps magic users access the divine also... unless..."

Face screwed up in concentration, Naren dives for his pack and begins digging out some books and scanning the pages quickly, drawing a quill and jotting down some notes.  He seems oblivious to the goings on for the moment.

The half-orc frowns. "Our own magic might kill us if we aren't careful enough... and the inhabitants of this place do not first."

Kagan paces back-and-forth. "I do not like the idea of being these people's pawn."

"I am the instrument of the gods. I haven't been summoned by these exiles from beyond the planes. These are no gods. These are the reasons why the gods sent me here: to bring justice to their wretched ways."

Drohem

Thraim chuckles and says, "oh yes, the ledger will be balanced before we leave this place."

Kord's Boon

Sander nods appreciatively to Naren before kneeling next to Semina as well; if he had attempted his healing prior to the unraveling of the spell it would have offered little relief.

"This should remove any remaining damage, with the gods' graces upon you." Sander forks his middle and index fingers forming a 'V' and places the two prongs on Semina's brow. "The spell is simple, but the magic is strong," he begins, and after a minute or so a healing impulse moves from the cleric, seeking to unwind any wounds or magic that would cloud her sight.

Semina sit back as Sander helps rid  the spots that plague her vision.  She quietly awaits a sign that her sight is completely restored. 'It is good to have such skilled companions,' she breaths deeply.  She can feel the surge of power flowing from Sander to her eyes.

As the divine power transfers from Sander to Semina, her vision clears immediately:  the spots fade quickly, and Semina finds herself with a full compliment of senses again.

Semina sighs in relief as the spots fade away.  She places her hand upon Sanders shoulder, "Thank you," she whispers with a quick hug.  "Naren," she looks over towards the magic user. "Your help is much appreciated," she bows her head.

Semina jumps to her feet to look over  the familiarity of the foyer and her companions.  With some sleep under her belt and her sight restored, Semina is feeling very frisky.

"What shall we hunt today," she smiles with an evil grin as she brings out her bow.

"Good question."

"I do not know the ways of this place." Kagan sighs. "What about the castle's denizens? You said the place is the property of the Amber family. But who else lives here? What about free-willed servants we could maybe convince to talk to us at first, and join our rebellion later, if we are to make an escape attempt?"

Drohem

Thanks to Moradin that her vision is restored!  Thraim thinks to himself as he sees that Semina is healed completely.

"Yes, a hunt will do our spirits good," Thraim says, "perhaps we should try to find our benefactors and give let them know how we feel about their hospitality."

Looking at Kagan Thraim continues, "we were taken by surprise with our meeting with John-Louis Amber and played his little madman game of boxing.  There were magical eyes hovering over seats that watched the boxing match.  So, I assume that there are other mages somewhere in the mansion, or its environs.  We didn't get far after the boxing match, as Semina was blinded during our fight the spider and spiderlings."

Smiling wide Thraim bows at the waist and gestures towards the hallway into the mansion as he says to Semina, "we'll follow your lead."

Semina gives Thraim a sly glance and walks through the double doors back into the first hallway.  She stops at the door on her right, "That is the room where the boxing match took place," she nods to Kagen and Sander.   Semina glares at the door, "Come to think of it, there was another doorway at the opposite end." She turns her glare towards Thraim, "In fact Jean-Louis left with his minions that way."

Semina stands for a moment patting her bow against her leg.  "If we continue on through the next set of doors," she takes a deep breath, "then we will have a hallway to our right, and a door in front of us that leads to the spiders."  Anger begins to rise within Semina's remarks.  Although it is not beyond her control, she does not feel fit to lead her companions into battle.  "Let's decide our direction, so that my anger will not lead us blindly."

"I would first check the huge hallway to make sure we've explored all the areas we can reach without walking through doorways or gates of any kind. Let's see where this leads us?"

Drohem

"Fine by me," Thraim says casually as he holds his crossbow at the rest position in his arms.

Snorri checks his gear and then rests his hammer on his shoulder as he hefts his shield and heads towards the large hallway and growls, "Good to be moving again."

Edit: I will try to remember to bold my dialog, but I will probably forget alot until the idea becomes entrenched, please bear with me. :)
