This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Apparently, 7eme Circle will be publishing a new RPG, in French, called Devastra, which will deal with mythical India.

Damn them! Why the French??!  If its 1/10th as good as Qin was I'm going to want it, but the question is... will it come out in English??

If it's as good as Qin, I'm sure it's gonna make it in English ultimately.

Right now, I'm wondering if "French bastard" doesn't constitute a pleonasm we ought to be proud of as a people.
...
I guess it does. :D

Damn right it does.  I'm proud, and I was just reading it.

A mythical India RPG seems long overdue... I'd always hoped there'd be a GURPS sourcebook on the subject.
I wonder if there has been hesitation because it would be hard to capture the flavor without tramping on Hindu icons?

Well kudos to those French for making the best damn minis game on the planet.

You bet! I hear Confrontation is good to.

I have a fairly large Red Blok army for AT-43. In fact, I just got my Dotch Yaga the other day. :D

Yeah, I've been eyeballing it at the FLGS. Owners a big fan. Gave me the quick once over on the basics of it. Now I really want to play it. But unfortunatly its not in the budget.:( I think the Red Blok and the Karmans look awesome!:D

I would have never gotten into the game at the retail price point. Thankfully we had a lot of 50-65 percent off clearance sales in Rackham's U.S. market.

I've probably spent more than I intended; It has almost devoured my hobby budget for six months. But I love the gameplay and the pre-painted minis are icing on the cake.

GRIM

Fucking bastards >.<
People really need to stop stealing my ideas, that's three for three now, Far West, Barbarians of Lemuria and now this.
I'm going to have to start wearing a tinfoil hat if this keeps up :(

I don't see why. Its not like gamers have been particularly careful about "respecting" the icons of any other religion.

It might do, but looking at the schedule of their current "translator company" (which deserved it's own thread very recently), I'd not hold my breath.

Which just makes me want to hire a friend of mine (non-gamer but French and unemployed) or another friend (gamer, writer of games, French-speaker) and get them to translate these games in competition with *that other company*.

I've a growing library of French games - I'm loving what they're doing. A real breath of fresh air.
