This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Stargate RPG

I played Fringeworthy back in the day!  My Tri-Tac fav was Stalking the Night Fantastic.   If you ignored half the system (like most people did with AD&D), then the game ran fine.   It's very Stargate.

I have played the D20 Stargate via SpyCraft and its okay. SpyCraft 1e has much cooler feats than the 3.x PHB.   If you hand-wave the tactical stuff, you can play without the battlemap and keep things cinematic.   That said, there is that D6 version somewhere on the web.

Right here, in fact.

Having seen a review of 'Starblazer Adventures' on the big purple, I'm tempted to pick it up in time and use it for FATE-based Stargate play.  But, I'm holding out for a printed copy... it's far too large for me to comfortably read on the computer.

Ok, I have to ask. What is the big purple?

The color scheme gives it its nickname.
"Tony wrecks in the race because he forgot to plug his chest piece thing in. Look, I\'m as guilty as any for letting my cell phone die because I forget to plug it in before I go to bed. And while my phone is an important tool for my daily life, it is not a life-saving device that KEEPS MY HEART FROM EXPLODING. Fuck, Tony. Get your shit together, pal."

Quote from: Terrible Tim;277316What is fringeworthy? I have been out of RPG for about 10 years.

TT.

Fringeworthy is an adventure game of exploring alternate earths and alien worlds linked by a vast network of roadways in an interdimensional space.  The standard role is that of a member of an exploration team working through the United Nations to build friendly relations with other worlds while bringing back knowledge and devices to help solve Earth's problems.

this can be quite challenging with the bizarre cultures, races, and natural laws that can be on a world in another universe.  Also the races that built this Fringesystem were all but destroyed by creatures called Mellor who still lurk out there.

Fringeworthy d20 has just been released.  You can find more information at //www.tritacgames.com and //www.tritacgamers.com

It's not your father's Fringeworthy anymore.
