This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So, we've already covered what a Christmas special RPG adventure would look like.

What would a New Years special look like? What would the adventure consist of?
What system would you use?

You take The Price of Freedom mash it up with Midnight and power the whole thing with Paranoia.

(You can leave out Midnight, if fantasy doesn't turn you on)

Edit: And in Midnight you're playing the lackeys of the Dark Lord.....

Can't explain it but a fun fast paced crime would be awesome. Nothing like a New Years Eve to steal the world's largest emerald.

Since it would be a one-shot, I'd go for Risus. Fun and fast to get into.
Running: Dogs of WAR - Beer & Pretzels & Bullets
Planning to Run: Godbound or Stars Without Number
Playing: Star Wars D20 Rev.

A lack of moderation doesn\'t mean saying every asshole thing that pops into your head.

Doctor Who or some other time travel story in which the end of the year somehow links to the wrong year (like 1999 turns over to 1900).

RockViper

Lite hearted and fast paced. Maybe the players have to rush a vital piece of the times square new years eve ball to the party before the clock strikes 12 (of course its composed of diamonds) and every two bit hood in the city is trying to steal it.

I don't know... I'm thinking this:

Santa's gone apeshit... again. He's got an uzi, he's wasted some motherfuckers before, and he's going to do it again.
This year, Christmas is going to be all year round, if Santa gets his way, and only YOU can stop him. So you'd better be good... lethally good.

If your world has precognition - As soon as the year began, not a single person could see past the end of the year.

You still don't know why and the countdown is at 12 days...
The main problem with government is the difficulty of pressing charges against its directors.

Given a choice of two out of three M&Ms, the human brain subconsciously tries to justify the two M&Ms chosen as being superior to the M&M not chosen.
