This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Time-Travelling Hitman: If You Could Go Back...

With that caviat, I'd have the hitman guidence council William Shatner.

NO!!!

As much As I grew to dislike Shatner over the years , then find him pathetic - he redeemed himself with the character and role of Denny Crane. (!!)
He sorta finally "got it" .

"Boston Legal" is one of the few non-sci-Fi shows that I enjoy watching.  Also one of the few that can do a political topic - and make BOTH sides seem a little ridiculous.  (which is pretty a darn good trick writing-wise)

The guidance would be to go straight to comedy. He was pretty funny in Miss Congeniality as the beauty pageant host. :)

James McMurray

He was pretty funny as The Big Giant Head on Third Rock from the Sun as well.

Balbinus

I wouldn't, whatever I took out would likely be somebody's much loved game.

I tend to find that I can deal with games I don't like by not playing them.  I recommend it generally.

Great Cameo scenes in "Dodgeball!" as well.

I'd send someone back in time to tell TSR to make up their fucking minds as to what system they were going to use for Gamma World 4th, so that we wound up with sometihng that didn't feel like two incomplete and incompatible games mashed together.
Bedroom Wall Press - Games that make you feel like a kid again.

Arcana Rising - An Urban Fantasy Roleplaying Game, powered by Hulks and Horrors.
Hulks and Horrors - A Sci-Fi Roleplaying game of Exploration and Dungeon Adventure
Heaven\'s Shadow - A Roleplaying Game of Faith and Assassination

Quote from: Saphim... I also found the little "this machine kills fascists" slogan creepy as hell...
I'm not fond of it, either.

On the other hand, I find the idea of speculating on "What If Designer X Never Got Into
The Hobby" an interesting one, and hope we can just do that.

If only 'common sense' would do a better job living up to it's name the world would be a much better place. Thanks for doing your part to help.

Quote from: RPGPunditDo you know the reference for that line?

It was what Woody Guthrie wrote on his guitar. In other words, freely speaking out is the machine that "kills" fascists.

My moderators have that line because it ties to the core concept of the moderation of this site: that moderators here are people entrusted to ensure the protection of free speech, rather then to become the forces that crush free speech.
Oh, I know. The slogan was on the guitar of a guy who spoke high and mighty and when WWII hit the world he chickened out and washed dishes instead of fighting. A real giant.

And for the protection of free speech... dude this is a rpg site, not a political discussion. There are no high stakes and no "forces of evil on the horizon" threatening to "crush" free speech with their evil indie ideology.

I suppose the thread title is more of a manifestation of the over the top Pundit persona.

I have no idea whom I should remove from RPG history either. Maybe I would advise the whole failed novellist generation to go write a decent novel instead of trying to sell their stuff for RPG supplements. Or Skip Williams, the Dragon's Sage -- the entire idea of the letter of the the rules being an ultimate authority for the pettiest questions doesn't resonate with me. But I dunno, that's still not enough righteous indignation to send out a hit squad. So, Hitler it is.
