This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ah, fall.

When a man's desires turn from outdoorsy pleasures to ones better suited around a nice, warm living area.

For this man, his jonesing for Traveller is high, and he wishes to trod again the decks of a Free Trader in fashionable ankle-high boots and a cape of the most respelendent ermine.

Now, until Steve Jackson drops his goods onto a purchasable CD or CDs (funny, I know), I am left looking at FFE's offerings and their CD packages look just too damn good to pass up.

So, anyone got the skinny on 'em?
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

I have the CT CD-ROM.  With the exception of a couple of crooked or upside-down scans, it's aces; I'm thrilled to own it.

I've got the CT and JTAS discs and both are great.  Like the Doc said, there are a couple pages that were scanned in upside-down, but it's not a show-stopper.  Text is OCR'd, too, so you can cut and paste stuff from the books for your own projects.
For fuck\'s sake, these are games, people.

And no one gives a fuck about your ignore list.

Oh-ho...

I twirl my luxurious mustache and smile at these pleasing words from others.  Yes, the Classic Traveller CD does indeed sound to be a very good buy.

But wait!  What about the others?  What about MegaTraveller or 2300?

When it first came out, the MT CD was to supposed to stink mightily (lots of illegible scans, pages missing). There was talk of a cleaned-up CD to replace it but I don't know if that ever did happen.

A key thing to remember about the MegaTraveller CDROM is that it includes the GDW books but not the DGP books.  The Classic Traveller CDROM is well worth it.  With the right software and printer, you can even print out your own little booklets.

MegaTraveller was a bit of a disappointment for me, due to the poor scan quality. It was cool that it had so much stuff packed into a CD at such a great price, but the quality was very disappointing. It was clearly a rush job without any TLC going into the production.

Ditto here.
