This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I don't imagine I will have any problem stunting, but the idea of using 'other dice' is a sound one. Nothing drives the point home by seeing the other guy get extra pretty dices. Of course, that means I have to make sure to purchace at least 20 or so of the same d10, my dice collection is pretty eclectic, particularly in the D10 area.

Of course, it shall all come to naught. I roll like a utter goon. Either I wiff horribly on the easiest of rolls or I absolutely murderize with 99% successful dices, leaving nothing but broken PCs in my wake.

On the other hand, I got this thingy off the intarwebz called the 'battlewheel', and it was fakking brilliant, worked like a champ. No comments on the ticks portion of combat, the Battlewheel made it smooth and pretty.

Duel round two, PC's vs GM will have to involve a more described terrain, however. Don't want the players making up the scenery like last time!
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

If they were making up the scenery they were stunting. You have to make sure they don't do the ludicrous, like make a castle appear, but minor setting creation is encouraged. What kinds of stuff did they create?

The archer decided they were fighting in a forest. Thats sort of a sweeping change that in the course of normal campaigning I am against.  Want to swing from a chandelier? I'm cool with that (provided, you know, that this isn't a cave, open plains or what have you...).

The closest other 'stunt' was using the singing staff thingy to move dirt around defensively, sadly that wasn't a rolled action, so no added dice.

Hehe, yeah, that's a little much.

Did the singing staff thing count as a stunt to add DV, or was he using it as to generate fortifications?

Fortifications. Literally a wall, then a dome.  I was tempted to call for Craft:earth checks just to add stunt dice, which the sorceress desperately needed (motes, anyway).

The rules are vague on whether diceless stunted actions give back motes or not. I don't allow it, but I know some that do. If my group wasn't stunting left and right I'd definitely consider it, just to get them being more narrative in their actions.

Personally I do allow unrolled actions to regenerate motes. Easier mote regeneration encoutrages more mote spend, which makes the game a little more dynamic.

Pseudoephedrine

Exalted pretty crunchy, and pretty prep-heavy. Back when I ran it on the internetz, I was always glad I gave every major NPC villain a "get away" charm because it met I could reuse their stats next time instead of needing to come up with new ones, and that was in PbP, where everything is slow, slow, slow. Also, it turned them into recurring villains, which was coolish.

I've found recurring villains to be in theme with a lot of things I've watched, plus it gives the PCs a huge kick when they nab him or her fair and square.
God in the Machine.

Here's my website. It's defunct, but there's gaming stuff on it. Much of it's missing. Sorry.

I've got a blog. Do you read other people's blogs? I dunno. You can say hi if you want, though, I don't mind company. It's not all gaming, though; you run the risk of running into my RL shit.
