So Chris Perkins leaves D&D today.  If there is a cooling of period for his exit interview, I see him joining Chaosium with Mearls in a year.  Gotta admit, Mearls seemed pretty happy at Garycon when he was playing Kobolds against the Monster Manual.  I did not hear of Perkin's being present at Garycon this year.

That's interesting.  I'll have to watch that.  Hmm.....  People seem to be running for the exits, at WOTC.  Or they're being pushed out the exits.

Perkins was moved out to a "New" position at D&D and he said he was so happy.  And he's out.  Either he tried to change the direction of the game to something profitable, or that "New" position was being fired.  Perkins has generally stayed out of left wing purity spirals, so that would not endear him to the workers at the Peoples D&D.

Perkins is very woke. Given the direction that Chaosium has taken in recent years, he would fit there very well.

I am at a struggle to find anything Perkins did that somehow benefitted the hobby or made some lasting impact

That's right, my friend! I remember reading Perkin's scenarios provided in Dungeon Magazine, as well as his later (earlier than now) stuff for D&D 3E in modules, books, and Dragon Magazine. Back then, he was pretty solid as a writer and game designer. He seemed like a cool guy.

The same could be said for someone like Monte Cook.

I'm thinking this all was before 2006, so way before the current time. Then, geezo, somewhere around 2016 with the election of President Trump, both of these once-respected writers and game designers lost their minds, and became filled with Woke Leftist jello.

It is sad to see them both so unreasonable, stupid, and unlikeable in the years since.

Truth be told, I could say the same for most of the folks over at Paizo as well. I met Michelle Lindroos, Erik Mona, and what's his name also at Paizo and Green Ronin? The fucking Communist. Oh well. They are all degenerate Communists now apparently. At Gen Con before 2005 when I met them there, again, they seemed very nice, professional, and cool people.

The change--or the truth just coming out after being buried and well-hidden, is, admittedly, kind of mind-boggling. But, this is these people being authentic. What we saw and experienced before was merely the glitzed-up marketing gloss put on them by companies back then that typically had strict expectations that everyone stick strictly to gaming, the rules, game-table experiences, and so on--in any event, being sure to absolutely avoid saying anything controversial, argumentative, or offensive. That was all before 2005 though.

So, *shrugs* Fuck 'em. Let Chris Perkins go dig ditches and do some real work instead of playing grab-ass in the cubicles at the corporate office.

Strangely, in a similar manner, both Chris Perkins and Monte Cook each used to produce good work--but as each has become more comfortable with letting their Leftist tyranny scream out loud--they have produced less and less of quality work or even something noteworthy. I'm tell'in yah, that Leftist, Woke brain-rot is *real*. Elon Musk has called it the "Woke Mind Virus" and commented on how tyrannical, hysterical, hostile, and unhinged it really does make people. I agree with that assessment. It destroys people's mental capacities in some serious ways. Then again, it just seems like full-bloom Marxism. I've seen the same Marxist-Commie nutjobs when in college as well as their sisters, the Feminists--and they all read from the same playbook. They become obsessed with Communism, "Fighting the Patriarchy!" and "Resisting Evil America!" and blah, blah, blah. Really, though, it becomes a weird, evil kind of religion, for them to fight and obsess over forcibly building their Marxist "Utopia". It becomes the major focus of their entire lives, and influences and orders everything and everyone in their lives.

We've also seen this kind of thinking and lifestyle from the Leftist "Activists" and "Community Organizers". It's all BS and terrible stuff, and terrible people. But, it is interesting how there is this kind of cliff that their lives and productivity just drops off from after hitting the point of becoming a dedicated Marxist goon.

I never cared much for Monte Cook and when you compare Perkins to any executive at WotC, most of his posts UNTIL the US election was metered.  Even after the election and him volunatarilly plugging his brain into legacy media to feed him aggitprop he hasn't went into the race marxist camp.  Once he starts advocating for men to beat the fuck out of girls in sports or gay pride flag, well fuck him.  He seems to an Obama Democrat not a Democrat Socialist.  He wasn't the asshole talking about how the concept of "half is inherrently racist" - crawford or talking shit about whites - Kyle Brink. 

That being said, he'll probably turn into a race marxist before the Trump presidency is done.  He's no longer working for WotC, no social media policy to worry about, if flies off the handle, he'll be done as someone who can be hired.  He's 57 I believe, he needs 8 more years of work, I doubt WotC paid him enough to retire early.
