This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Its all about virtue signalling and brainwashing the gullible. Controlling the "narrative" so that anything they point at can be torn apart at a whim.

If they have not already I am 100% cewrtain that sooner or later one of these sociopaths will declare Roots or Good Times or Sanford and Son wacist and it just has to go. They have been targeting Jewish commedians well before this and who knows what else.

It is extremely tame but there are people who get their entire moral authority or even their entire personality from being outraged about things.  They will find something to be outraged about.  They need to.  They have long since run out of actually offensive things to be outraged about so now we have microaggressions and old cartoons are racist.

Oh yeah. They can always fall back on "Not Woke Enough".
The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

Remember when they complained about Ruby Rose playing Batwoman because she wasn't gay enough?

The new Captain America movie was fun. There are bits to nitpick (like warships not even engaging their CIWS to stop incoming missiles), but it was enjoyable. Mackie, Esposito, and Ford did great, Falcon-guy wasn't so good, and Sabra was totally forgettable.

The guy playing Captain America has been busy digging his career's grave with his mouth lately.

Too bad as I liked him as Falcon.

It doesn't appear in the movie.

I am watching a movie called Snow Girl and the Dark Crystal.  It's kinda ass.  The story doesn't make much sense and the CGI looks like ass even for 2015.

I have the vaguest memories of that movie. If you want a good one and the same ball park that came out around that time, Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons is very good. It came out like two years earlier.

I'm not going to see Captain America: Brave New World in the theaters, but if they put together a blu-ray with all the deleted scenes and dropped storylines, I might have to pick it up just to see what got left on the cutting room floor.

I didn't realize they still made blu-rays.

Accidentally saw part of "In the Tall Grass" before it clicked this was a Steven King movie. Didnt bother with the rest as it reads like an AI made plot pulled from a batch of these idiot "Time loop trap" movies that cropped up in the last 10-15 years. But its so stupid Im pretty sure King did write it.

Family gets trapped in a huge tall grass field that warps time and space on the fly and actively fucks with those trapped.

The first episode of Reacher Season 3 drops today on Amazon Prime.

Just watched Dragon Missile, a 1976 Shaw Brothers movie starring Lo Lieh and directed by Ho Meng-Hua. Hadn't seen it in ages. It is part of the whole Flying Guillotine series of movies and saw it once many years ago. But someone mentioned it on my discord and I decided to watch it again, and maybe do a blog entry on the weapon. It has a great cast, nice solid action movie filled with anti-heroes. There are two characters who are good, and they are important, but I wouldn't call them the protagonist as much as Lo Lieh is (and he is definitely a bad guy here). It is kind of an odd movie in that respect, because the story does focus on the revenge story of the two characters I mentioned, but the film really follows Lo LIeh and his crew more than them. Cool decapitating boomerang weapon (Lo Lieh carries two at all times). Nice variety of weapons throughout. Not the greatest movie (at times some of the action feels slightly lethargic, which hurts it a bit in the larger battles) but overall a fun movie with all the stuff you kind of want in a wuxia film (variety of weapons, stark characters, violence, etc). It is also a pretty good cast overall.
