This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I think we should all go next year and have a contest to see who can steal the largest number sweat soaked fedorahs. The winner gets to drink all the sweat! Who's with me?
You are posting in a troll thread.

760 Patrons? LOL

In hindsight, WRT 4E, Mongoose's timing of their Traveller announcement was perfect. Ditto their release date, if they manage to keep it.
I think they are gently making fun of the typo in their Traveller press release. ;)
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

Hi!

Met with a bunch of people today - I'll post that later. OTOH, I happened to hold the door for Gary Gygax when he came in at 1 PM. I was heading out the door and there he was coming in. I said "Hello, Mr. Gygax!" He said hello back and shook my hand. Way cool coincidence! :D

This is like, the greatest thread ever.  There should be an ennie award for this.  Stellar job, thanks for all your hard work!

It's not a typo. We're actually doing (or, more accurately, planning to do) a 760 patrons book.

(I'm very, very glad that it's not on my schedule...)

and they got the cover design right, too!  although i agree with the doc, the font seems a bit off. . . still, can't beat the classic (color) on black!  :D

The exhibit call is closed for the day, but I'm not done working.  I have the ENnies in a few hours, but first, some updates:

Regarding Septimus:  Stopped by the WEG booth, and sadly, Septimus has run into "production issues", meaning a 1-2 month delay.  Sorry.

I found my product of the show this far!

Kayuda Maps.

Think Google Maps for gamers.  Think editing capability.  Think sharing and groups online, with real-time capability.

Think that this is all free (ad-supported).

Kayuda Maps is currently in sort of an Open Alpha, and is looking for input, as they are still developing several of their capabilites.  Let's see what they have thus far:

  • Upload a map of your world or create a map from scratch using our map editor
  • Share your maps online, in realtime, with thousands of others
  • Write on the maps: record the stories of your campaign directly on the map where they happened
  • Edit the maps, at any zoom level from 5'x5' up to 256miles x 256miles
[/B]
I live and die by my maps in my game.  Those of you that know me know I LOVE maps.  And this just might be my holy grail.  The staff were awesome, and seemed extremely desirious of not building anything without customer feedback.  Rob, Seth, and David knew their stuff, and I came away very impressed.  I signed up for an account on the spot, and am really looking forward to using this puppy.  This could be a godsend for map-oriented fantasy gamers, and those who want a free tool to ehance communication and feedback with their gaming group.  Keep in mind there's no dungeon/urban option yet for editing, and he still wants input for items like hexmapping.  But I can see myself using this--a lot.  Hot damn, I'm still excited, nearly two hours later.  Did I mention free?  Sign up!

There are a LOT of minis at the show.  Here's a PART of Reaper's Display:

How about some costumes?

Rifts Dead Boy:

I think the red eyes are a nice touch.

My daughter loves Wonder Woman, so I thought I'd show her this one when I get home:

You rebel scum.

Different goals made them enemies.  Gen Con made them friends:

I love that guy.

The author, in repose:

I don't remember having that many chins, but there they are.

Badabaskor!

Man, that's fun to say.

Lots of video gaming:

Gen Con:  Providing shirts for wear in your mother's basement for 40 years!

Man, there are lot of pirates here this year.  They are completely eclipsing the eleves, I swear.

Dasani--the grog additive of choice for the distinguished pirate!

What would be strange anywhere else is that I have identified at least 3 separate (competing?) bands of singing pirates.  At Gen Con, this does not raise a single eyebrow.

Fat Dragon Games is up for an ENnie this year for their EZ Dungeon products.  Theirs tend to turn out a lot nicer than mine.  Perhaps I need the R-TARD Dungeons version:

Yeah, that's cardstock/paper.

OK, any questions I have yet to answer?  No answer at the Studio2/Pinnacle booth yet; I'll try again in a bit.

I am the proud owner of Rifts: Dimension Book 10:  Hades!!!  It's dual-statted for MDC and SDC, so it also works for my Palladium Fantasy games.  Carl Gleba can write.  It's like a distilled metal band album from the early 80s in writing.   Copies went fast, after showing up around 3pm.

Now, with the ENnies tonight, I'm meeting up with Bill Corrie (HinterWelt), and we're attending.  Misery loves company, as the damned thing will likely be at least 110 degrees in the shade again this year.  I need to call clash, to see if he's game.  Our schedules didn't allow us to all game together today, which sucks ass.  I should be able to blog the proceeding tonight, but if I cannot, I will record it and do it first thing in the morning.

EDIT:  Jeff, haven't seen Phil Reed yet.  Haven't forgot. :)

My (eight-month pregnant) wife Theresa will be here tomorrow, and I'll try to get her to take as many pics of hawt chicks as she can.  She sees me taking them, this will be my farewell address.

Color me jealous. Interested in seeing how the ENnies turnout too. Oh, and good luck on your campaign for judge.

Thanks.  I don't entertain much hope, but I think I have a small chance, at least.  That ENWorld bloc is hard to crack.
