This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Farewell, Dalek!

Now that I´ve watched The "Genesis of the Dalek", the idea of a Prussian Dalek is not funny anymore to me.
That episode was a letdown, as I thought the Daleks to be pretty cool villains beforehand. I thought they were what they were, and not "Schutzstaffel Davros".

Instead of a Mengele´d Robo-Nazi, I prefer impersonating a reactionary 18th century Prussian Officer again.

I can understand your sensitivities about the issue, given that clearly Genesis of the Daleks presents the Daleks as the ultimate result of nazi-esque racial supremacism, and that particularly fascist hatred of everything that is not like you.

But yeah, I still thought the prussian dalek was very cool.

As a member of an once-oppressed populace, I'd like to ask how the Daleks can be even worse? ;)

Dr Rotwang!

Dude, that Prussian Dalek was awesome.  I understand, connotations, etc., but -- I think that's one of those instances in which thinking too hard hurts.
