Even worse, the Monster Manual includes a "White Dragon," a phrase that makes me uncomfortable since it reminds me of that racist supervillain from DC Comics... This cannot stand!

You can't force someone to have a spine. It's sad that the author was willing to sacrifice the tone of the setting for a tiny handful of people who get offended at anything and everything.

The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

Dog gone it.

Just another example, of a problem I keep having....

I owned a bunch of books for D&D 5E, and thought i wanted more; but then things started changing.

I owned the DCC core rulebook, and thought I wanted more; but then things started changing.

I own the OSE Classic Fantasy rulebook, and thought I wanted more; but then things started changing.

And Wizards.

They are too busy censoring out bad words like Race and Fat and god knows what else they excised from Fake edition.

Thats because the woke and/or the storygamers keep co-opting everything sooner or later.

Yeah DCC was a bit of a punch in the gut. At least ACKS is safe.

I lost interest in pursuing Dolmenwood when it changed from being a campaign setting for OSE to its own RPG.

There are clearly financial incentives for selling more books in doing so, so I can understand the change to a wider audience. But it also irritated me because my expectation in getting on board with the last OSE Kickstarter was that this cool OSE campaign was coming along.

This really isn't surprising. There were red flags about Gavin Norman years ago. His effort to go apolitical was an attempt to appease a significant segment of the market that buys his games, but he's already fired someone for wrong think. He isn't even bending the knee here, he agrees with it.

I backed the KS in a moment of weakness and have inquired several times about cancelling my pledge for a refund, but have yet to get a response.  So if I end up getting it, I'll just sell or trade it.  But yeah, it's been depressing to see Gavin gain speed as he heads down woke highway.  But I've still got my original Rules Cyclopedia so I just just sell all my OSE stuff if I feel like it and it'll be essentially where I was a few years ago.

Well, it seems they shut up and took your money...

I imagine Necrotic Gnome's position would be that since they started putting out mostly complete versions of the pdfs soon after the KS started, they have partially fulfilled the pledge. They'd have a point, too. Since I've been using those pdfs to run a campaign, I've probably gotten most of the value I'm ever going to get out of it.

I'm sure there's a way they could fairly allow people to get refunds without letting people pledge just to get the pdfs and then immediately back out, but I'm not sure exactly how you'd do it.

Bait -n- Switch seems to be their MO at this point.

I'm happy to report they just gave me a full refund.  Pretty surprised and it took multiple requests, but I'm relieved just the same.  It wasn't just the money.  I've already got too many game supplements and not enough space or time for them so I only want stuff I know I'm actually going to use.

Only because you posted about getting ripped off. How many others are they still ripping off because they can get away with it?
