This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The first bagel thread, renamed

Ok, you know what? This isn't what we typically do around here, but I'm going to close this one.  Rack it up to not wanting to Jinx us all.

If you goofballs really want to open up a brand new thread about bagels or donuts or whatever the fuck you're talking about, please go right ahead.

How... interesting.

Mind if I ask why the rename, or will that get me screamed at for being a fucking idiot again?

Well - I'm not claiming credit .  But I think TWICE I suggested it would be easier to just re-title the read.

But why? Either Nox is a threat to the site and talk about him is locked, censored, and editted away or he isn't. It doesn't change that if he's lurking here he'll know it got posted to, and if he isn't lurking here he won't know. All it changes that I can see is that it lets Pundit concede to the wishes of his members but still maintain that last little authoritative tweak.

Hence why I asked, so I could be corrected.

TonyLB

Well, if Nox has subscription turned on then he'll presumably be getting emails, even if he doesn't lurk.

So ... folks suggested that instead of closing the thread, the moderators could just remove Nox's subscription to it.  I don't know how this board works, under the hood, but I know other boards where there is no moderator option to do that directly.  Maybe this is the work-around?

From past experience with similar boards:  If I wanted to get around the subscription functionality (i.e. make people who had been subscribed to a thread no longer receive messages about it) then one way I might do it is to go into the Moderator's menu and use the Split-Thread function to split every single post off into a :"new" thread.  This would require renaming it.

If he's getting emails the damage has already been done. Either he saw the email when it first got bumped or he didn't.

RPGPundit

So you just figured you'd up the damage a bit more, didn't you, you pathetic little shit?!

Oh??

 Really?

What if we just like Bagels - and don't care what the motivation of the OP or poster was ?

Really - I like/LOVE the steak, egg & Cheese bagel that is a part of McDonald's breakfast menu.

Weirdest bagel I ever had"? Think it was a jalepeno cheese bagel - I kid you not. They somehow baked the hot cheese into that bagel.

The same place also had :

 Garlic & Pizza sauce bagels

Chocolate & cinnamon bagels..

swiss cheese bagels...

 Peanut butter flavored bagels....

To bad they went out of business - the novelty factor was rather fun.

Garlic bagels with pesto cream cheese.

Those are what the snake actually tempted Eve with, none of this apple crap like in the Book of Genesis.
"Meh."

They come from both the local Dunkin' Donuts (which is owned & operated by a cool family of Pakistanis) and a small mom & pop bagel shop down the road from my apartment.

Hmm, in the interest of seeing if it can be done, let me know what part of Canada you are in and I'll see if I can mail you some. I've never tried to deal with international customs on food items before and it'd be a fun experiment.
"Meh."
